    Re: instrument augments

On the other end of the spectrum you need to pull away from the epic someday and the 2 main parts you need to replace are brass and singing. This brass is 1.8 so that's half the battle. The 1.4 singing aug will do with a VoS until you get into the higher planes to get a nice singing mod item. I like the fact how the singing and the stringed are both type 7 so you can stick them on normal armour.

    Re: instrument augments

Brass and singing? I would have said Wind and Percussion lol 2 songs that I use a lot that REQUIRE instruments are Invis and HOS/OOS. They require Wind or Percussion. I cant think of any songs that require brass other than Erjav, which I never use since Riz/Muse. A singing mod would be nice, but I could be useful and function fine without it. A brass mod would give a few more stat points to Woz, but wouldnt effect the haste. A string mod would give a few more regen per tic for CoM, but not affect the mana. A drum mod would let you HoS, and give a few more resist debuff points to HoS/OOS. A Wind mod would let you invis, and.....well affect mezzes or charms I guess. I dont think you can get MORE Invis ;o) Singing Mod would help with PoV, other then that it doesnt do much for ya in the long run. Since I got the KoS staff, I have been using it in offhand, and I find it is a real pain to keep swapping in Epic when I need to HOS. But the benefits of higher DS on PoV from the better Singing mod make it worth it. It would be nice to have SOME kind of Percussion aug that let me HOS without swapping

    Re: instrument augments

Actually I understand Brass and Singing. Singing for PoV, and Lullaby, is invaluable IMHO at higher levels and without any mod in it at all I find myself lacking. Brass for Requiem (hate getting resists on it, even with my Troub mace), and Zek, because IMHO, DS is a large part of a bard's DPS, even on slowed mobs, and DPS is important in LDoN. I agree wind is useful as well, but until last night I haven't broken out OOS/HOS in a while because I simply haven't needed it. Raids and highly MR mobs are obvious examples of where it is needed. So I would say IMHO, that singing, brass and wind would be my choices, but then again, I just want my epic so I can have a 1.8 mod in all of them, then I'll be rocking on IM and SM, so what do I know? To each his own. If we all wanted to play characters that were cookie cutter/all the same, we would have made Warriors, Clerics, or Chanters ;o) In the words of that great statesman, Pepe LePew.... VIVA LE DIFFERANCE!!

    Re: instrument augments

Well my logic is this... When I HoS I want max effect so I'm using a drum. When I invis I can easily just toss epic in hand. If I want to cure my self with bard version of RGC/DR/PR songs I use my flute for max benifit. Stringed wont affect mana regen of the song the AE mana songs so it's only really useful worry about the mod in downtime. The brass is mainly for Zek because it adds good ds and atk. The singing is mainly for veeshan ds and resists.
