That's odd, worked for me a while ago, but I too had a preceived problem with it which cost me another jade and half my health bar trying to recharm the bad boy... I kept looking for the hammer in my first bag. I had plenty of room in it but nada... What I didn't realize is that the hammer is GIANT sized, so it only fits in giant sized bags. Seems it went into my only Giant Sized bag and I didn't check there until later. Is it possible it went there for you as well? My guess is that if you don't have a giant sized bag, it would just go onto your cursor rather than drop on the ground (no-drop so /shrug). Either way, if he's charmed and aimiable to you, and you give him the jade, he should give you the hammer. Hope that little tid bit helps, other than that, I'm clueless. Sinfonian

Yep, yep, I also forgot about this until recently. One note, you cant use this to get other melees gate hammers. Trust me, I embarrassed myself yesterday, told a guildie warrior I would get him a free gate hammer. I charmed the foremen, he gave him a jade, but it didnt work, the warrior got some text that The foreman wouldnt work with someone who hand proved himself loyal to Venril Sathir.

That is because you charming him makes him indifferent to others, while he is amiable to you. Indifferent isn't high enough faction for the quest. If a person could still get their hands on some Puppet Strings (which no longer drop I think), then they could charm him and do it themselves. Can I do this quest at 50? I should ding tonight and I'm really looking forward to this. I started my bard with Tunare deity so I'm sure my faction will be as bad as it gets. Dont bother flaming me about how I should have chosen agnostic, I don't regret it. Yet. :p Also Im going to hijack this thread real quick, how easy is it for a lvl 50 bard to get the DE illusion mask? Ive been to Lguk countless times in my bards life looking for a grp doing the assasin room but no one camps guk anymore. Can I do this solo? Could I do it with a 46 ranger friend? Could I do it with my 55 druid? And lastly I have a 57 pally friend, should I just say screw it and bring him? Scuse the ignorance but I am not familiar enough with the area, yet. thanks all ;)

as long as you can charm the Foreman, you can do the quest. One note though, be very very close to him, and have a jade ON your cursor, cause he WILL break charm fast. At 50 you might be able to solo the DE Mask camp, but if you get a lot of adds, you might end up getting killed. A healer on the side, or the pali, would enable you to do it easy. The mobs in the assasin room ar 35-40ish. You should get the mask to drop in an hour or two. If it was me, and I had a 55 druid, I would park the bard in the room, bring the druid and pali down there and kill like madmen till the mas dropped

Gate hammer... you should be fine as long as you can charm him and you should have no problem charming him. You may need to debuff his MR with Futils first (pretty sure that works). Getting there will be by stealth though, meaning over the water and around the wall stearing clear of the see-invis skells. I don't think Tunare would be my choice of dieties, I mean my druid's worshiped her for 54 levels, but what ever had she given him? I digress... The answer to your second question is related to your choice of religion. While you and your ranger friend should be fine if you don't get lost and don't have to fight your way through both the live and dead side (would take a while). Of course the pallie would make it easier, but I bet you could do it. My 30something bard did it with a 55 monk way back when. That being said, you have it, now what? Unless they've changed things and not told us (NEVER happens)... the only benefit you should get out of the deception mask is that you look cool. Mobs are stupid, but spiritually aware... meaning they see religion. So they may think you are cool as a DE, but kill you because you're a tree-hugging DE. In short, you will not be indifferent to mobs that like DEs. Unless they've changed something. It's still a cool toy and makes you look blue. GL Sinfonian

Ok thanks for the info my druid is on the same account as my bard and I dont plan on a split anytime soon, plus I really like a challenge and the thrill of having to drag my corpse out of hostile territory so Im going to ding 50 tonight and try it solo, if I cant pull it off Ill have my ranger friend come, and if THAT doesnt work Ill just get my pally friend to kill everything :) he still needs a ghoulbane so he already told me he would go, I just like getting info and trying it myself first. thanks guys On a side note - I found out about the deity nixing illusions as I already aquired my iksar mask as a birthday gift and in my noobness managed to train half of the OT outpost with the logic "hey Im an iksar, they wont attack me" The bad part? My friend told me about the deity thing but again, I had to see for myself. I am a stubborn stubborn bard. thanks for the info }:)

Be very careful dragging in Guk. There are undead mobs enroute to assasin room from the zone. They see invis. See invi on naked bard, even a see invis 35 mob on a naked 50 bard, is big trouble. Espcially when they then aggro 15 other 35ish mobs.

I'm a human bard of RZ... by default, apprehensive to VenrilSathir (OT Outpost faction). I'd turned in one set of berzerker whips when I had a thought. I went up to the apprehensive Skeletal Foreman, cast CCC on him (just sung, I'm level 30) and voila ... amiable. Ran to the vendor, grabbed a jade, and I have the hammer. Man, that was easier than farming the zillion whips I had to do on both my ogres. IIRC it doesn't proc until 50, but now if I want to I can blow my VS faction with no real problems. It's a nice tradeoff for being KOS in Kaladim.

This hammer has saved my butt countless times. Two times are the most memorable. The first time was when we were messing around in Cazic-Thule and cleared the pyramid and everyone ported out and left me there ><. I killed a bunch of eyes from the SS helm and eventually got out. The other time was when I went linkdead in NToV and logged back on with the hatchlings respawned. I was barely able to switch to the hammer and got a lucky proc and gated out with like 5% hp remaining :o :D The hammer will work much better if you have a dex buff so mem up Katta's and go bash something!

HUGE question about this hammer. IIRC it is 2hb, bards get no 2h skills? how can we use it even if it is listed ALL/ALL??? we dont have that skill? fyi, id love to have this hammer and have semi been working on faction so i could be not KOS in the outpost.

we can still use it we are just real crappy at it. what I did was use inkie mask and hit travel song so I could say invis and wondered around till i found him with inkie mask did the charm thing handed in jade and got the hammer. thing is there is no proc message you just zone outa no where I have used it before but not on mobs save when I tested it on some tiger in dreadlands but yeah we can still use it but are crappy with it dont expect to have constant dmg with it

Damage? Heh, why in pete's sake do you want to do damage with it? You just want a proc, and the proc rate over time is just dependant on the weapon and your dexterity. Skill doesn't matter into it.
