hey awhile ago I got my lvl 53 song rizonla fire from the MM ldon I have pretty much stoped since then due to the huge time sink it took just to get 250 points 30 something missions for me. And from what I seen to get any other good items I would need to have over 500 points. should I just wait untill 60s when points actualy start to add up or go at it again and hope I dont get burned out on it.( I am so sick of MM ldon) I just got 55 last night so i figure points are gona around 15 or so range if I do get back into it.

My opinion: LDoN xp from 55-59 sucks, PoP xp (grouping or solo) is so much better. As far as points, once you get above sixty you will rake in around 50 per adv., I am working on Call of the Muse(dont quite remember how many points needed) as well as my Tak BP (1492 points) so will stay take a while, but much faster than at 55.

I hear ya on that. My bots (cleric and shammy) get regular tells and group requests to do LDoN adventures. I always think to myself, why would I want to for a measly 10 points or whatever. Sure the exp is nice, but normally it isn't much better than a chain pulling group. Now if you got 40-50 points a win regardless of level (no, that's not realistic to expect) I'd be all over it from 20 on. That way by the time I reached 50 I'd have cool gear. As it sits now, by the time I'm 65 with AAs, I could be in full ornate from BoT before I got 2 pieces of Royal Attendant. Basically I'm doing a reality check on the number of successful missions I need to do in Tak to get that nice armor, and now I'm thinking that maybe I should just focus on getting the points for the songs I want (mainly Call of the Muse as I'll be 65 by the time I can afford it, and MAYBE that Futil's upgrade if I decide I need to chant kite HoH for my spectral parchments). Glad to see others are seeing that LDoN missions are almost as repetitive as swarming... /yawn My answer now to LDoN offers is almost always, sure, why not, instead of Sure, thanks I'd love to. Im only 40 and have onyl done a few LDoN groups about 10 i think, but i have started thinking the same way, but i think one of the key points that you arent really mentioning is the augs. Every advenutre at least one drops, and i dont know if you have one on every piece of gear you have (dont tell me you got like double +8's on everything) but i mean you can always get better ones, and with points augs run cheaper then the gear. I mean can you imagin full PoP elemntal gear with all wicked augs, and FT 15? I mean, i dont even know what to say, that would just rock. But basicly think of the augs people those sweet sweet augs.

This could very well be my own bad luck, but I honetly have not had an augment drop on my last 8 adventures. I only do maybe 2 a week as I've stated before Im just not impressed with LDoN. I went about a month and half where I refused all invites to LDoN groups but now that I decided to at least go after Call of the Muse I try to spend some time there.

I don't know about anyone else, but for some reason the groups I'm in nearly everyone seems to pass on the random aug drops unless we're lucky and it's stamina. I roll or take by default all the augs except wisdom (which normally a wis caster wants anyway). I just put them on my gear to buff my stats and resists. I figure if I get a really cool one and don't have the slot open, I can just get rid of the augment and put the new one on. I just find it odd that people would pass up increasing their resists or whatnot by 6 points. Just something I've noticed. Sinfonian

Who told you to take the resist augs and use em? Even tho nobody else was?

The little birdy on my shoulder that noticed that I have really crappy resists unless I change clothes completely and loose all my AC and HPs. Even still, I'm way under 100 without PoV in most categories. Other than that little tid bit /shrug dunno, just wanted to waste the augment slots I guess... :lol Sinfonian

well.. I was at that point after my 8th one.. /smirk I need 3 normal EF adventures or 1 hard and 1 normal to get "Call of the Muse" As for the Tak.. 10 hard ones should do it. just to get one of those "Royal attendant" items nevermind getting the augs for it.. /sigh I think your right Sinfonian, I'll be in Ornate or possibly Elemental before getting these :lol

Hehe Thanks Tsol... remember it doesn't matter the gear on the bard, it's the idiot at the keyboard that counts... As for my REAL resists, they're a tad better than that as I have augmented my gear, something I haven't bothered to figure out on Magelo. With my weapons in hand, I have 48 poison, 83 magic, 27 disease (haven't won an aug for that one yet), 98 fire and 72 cold :( . Nothing to write home about, but rest assured if I need resists for a raid I can boost them with resist gear to over 100. /shrug But yes, if I don't get PoV up on the way back from pulling a caster mob in LDoN, I take damage or what have you. Thus the reason for HPs, and lots of them (trying to thanks to Sapper anyway), so I can take a hit or two and survive. Oh and as for my attack, I have NO IDEA how to raise that, I don't look at it at all. /boggle how mine is better than yours Tsol. Sinfonian

Barb, do what is fun man. Dont stress about anything else then having fun, or working towards little goals. That is how EQ hooks ya, why it is so damn addictive, little bitty rewards as well as long term goals to shoot for. Have fun with friends or make new friends, and the rest of the stuff will take care of itself. If you want Exp, at 60 I would say PoV, PoS is your best bet for groups. Swarming I dont know, im sure someone has a list here somewhere. If you want gear, then farm Velious. ToV, Kael Arena, or work on faction killing and/or quests. Or farm plat somewhere and buy some stuff in the bazaar. But, and this is why I think LDoN is the best expansion ever, if you want a little of both, the LDoN is the way to go. You get exp, not the best, but certainly not bad exp. You get the chance for decent uppgrades with drops in the adventure, wether augs or actual gear. And you earn points towards better gear with every success. Unless I am on an AA binge or helping a guildie out with something, I usually do LDoN. Primarily because it is fun, but I also have gotten some decent augs as well as call of the muse. As for the lower DOT/DD songs, screw em, get enough EF points till you can buy muse. By that time, you will be 65 lol And Sin, i do the same thing, I dont NEED dex, agi, cha or resists, but why the hell should it rot? hell yeah ill stick it on something till something better comes along. Solvents are cheap. And your resists are fine as long as you keep muse up. If you dont have it up, OUCH. I have over 120 in all resists, and I still take cheap shots from casters when pulling if I dont have PoV up. Dont sweat the petty things, or pet the sweaty things either.
