Re: is it worth is now?

I definitely second the motion on the lesser DD/DoT songs. If you are at all close to 65, just get the points for Call of the Muse and get 65 so you can combine both the DD and DoT buff songs AND get an upgrade to Warsong of the Vahshir all in one! Cool song! I never liked Vahshir because ALL it did was overhaste. Nice but could have some stats to go with it, hehe I'm spoiled by Zek and PoV. Right now I'm just doing whatever LDoN my group wants, with my only preference being Tak so I can SOMEDAY get a bracer or something out of the deal. The only place I haven't been is DGuk and figure when I get close to 500 points in one I'll see what I can think about buying. Til then I'll just be lazy and play and not strategize where to get my Muse or whatnot. I'm still 57% into 63 so I've got a while to grind exp (good news is now that I have FM, I'm 100% exp again, so it should go quick). LDoN is nice, a good alternative to BoT IMHO. Sinfonian

Yea, I'm about the same mind as Sin's I take what ever LDoN is up.. preference is to Tak(NRo) or Mir (EF), but I'll do the others if asked. Eventually I'll get enough points to check out what the merchants have at those others camps, who knows I may find something that will fit. As to "is it worth it". *shrug* as long as your having fun doing it, then its worth it.

http://www.squidbox.com/skp/eq/ldon/list.cgi this is what I used to figure out what camps would be good for me so far just tak and mir seemed good but points seemed a bit steep for my current gains and im no where near 65 myself. Might also be due to the fact that I'm not 60+ soes perfered lvl on everything considered useful. But I have horrible time geting a ldon anywhere but MM for my lvl range all other zones seem to have nothing but 65s in them.

Re: is it worth is now?

I couldn't take it anymore, I been reading these boards for a couple months now and I have recieved some good information. But sometimes I think some of you are on crack!!! So i had to get logged in. The plate armor from EF is cheap, and has some really great stats. For a mere 15 success (at least at 65) in EF you can pick yourself up a BP with 63AC and man a ton of stats. No 15hour raids in VT hopeing you get the piece you need and the guild your in says hey, your turn to loot. Or hopeing you win an ornate drop or camping tons of loot mobs to try an buy overpriced stuff. Just 15 LDoN and bam you are garunteed the piece of raid quiality armor you want!!!! Hehe, anyway thats my 2cents. http://www.magelo.com/eq_view_profile.html?num=719826

Re: is it worth is now?

yeah but the trick is that your 65 you get around what 40 points per adventure? At 55 only 10 lvls under you I only get 15 points per adventure. I would need to have 40 fully succesful adventure to get a piece of armor for that many points. Untill you get into the 60s the points you get from missions seems very low and takes many missions to get points needed to attain a item it took me 25 misisons some fail some partial succes some full success just to attain 250 points for the lvl 53 focus song. Yes I do realize that you can attain great gear from ldon. But untill you are in the high lvls it can take a very long time to attain this great gear.

Re: is it worth is now?

Very true, and my low level alts don't LDoN for that very reason, however, I've found that LDoN where you are the lowest level (key) gives you killer exp, which means soon you will be in your 60s. I get 47 points for a successful mission at 63. Did 3 tonight and so that's nearly 150 points. I should have Call of the Muse right about the time I hit 65. No I'm not expecting to get uber gear from LDoN, 1492 points a piece before augments is highway robbery. Who knows, maybe that will change. Sinfonian

Re: is it worth is now?

Just thought I'd throw my experience of LDoN into the mix. I took about a two month break from EQ, mainly due to moving and getting reconnected, and upon my return I got a lot of invites to LDoN groups. I quickly had to figure out this pulling thing, hadn't been puller before heh, and after a few adventures I noticed something. The experience I was getting in the dungeons wasn't half bad. I blasted my way up to 63 and once there I've been cranking aa's like mad. With aa's set to 100% I can get about half an aa per adventure and sometimes more depending on the nature of the adventure and if we stay after success or failure. The only thing that has been bugging me is that most of the time I'm doing the MM dungeons. Most of these I can navigate without even looking at the map, every so often there's dungeon I haven't hit yet. I find myself having fun with friends and getting some pretty nice stuff, but... I think I might break off LDoN sometime soon to go see the planes a bit more heh. LDoN is a fun place, but it's not the only place and that is part of the fun in EQ :)

Re: is it worth is now?

:o Not trying to go too far off the subject... The main reason i do LDoN over anythign else is my wife. What is better than getting a group in 5 min, grab an adventure, buff and start the mission w/ in 30 min. If i do a collect i can complete them with 40-55 min left. Try and get a group in PoP and it can take a long (yawn) time to get a group and start killing. Loot isnt bad, exp isnt bad, augs are not bad, and u can hit it for 2 hours and get our before the wife knows what happened. :lol Jazimus

in general if I'm contacted for a group, it's MMC also.. I've gotten to the point where unless I KNOW (as in a Friend) it's needed, I refuse MMC... I just tell them flat out.. SOrry am sick and tired of MMC. However, 9 times outta 10, I'm the one starting the group, so I just go to EF, Nro, or EC and pull a group together. As my Best friend is a cleric, we have NO problem setting up a group in minutes, as long as there are Tanks lfg... and a couple times we've done pure caster groups where I'm the ONLY tankage other than pets. as for XP... at the low levels.. (have 2 level 30 toons as alts) I average 4-8 blue per Ldon... and as Ely I've leveled 55-59 strictly in Ldons, along with 5 pings.. I go straight AA if I'm the highest in the group... otherwise I'm at 80%xp/20% AA... I'm happy with how it goes.. I have noticed that augs and named mobs are streaky.. some times no augs at all... then once we had 8 drop in ONE Ldon... Same with Named Mobs... Zero sometimes, other times up to 5... Personally, coming to EQ as a LOOOONG time paper D&D player (since about '84), I love the Ldons because to me they are closer to old rpgs than anything I've seen. I just wish I had 2 more song gems. OMG.. I'm on dialup connection, and if I'm on lull/pull/mez duty I have a 5 twist set, and my lull/largos/mez songs... if I can get a chanter in the group I can twist 6 since I don't use a gem for mez... if we ever get DSL or cable internet in this g**-forsaken area where I live, I can truely see feeling held back by not having enough gems to be able to do what I can do to the best of my abilities.

Re: is it worth is now?

I hear ya Jazimus. I often only get a couple of hours to play due to family commitments :). Used to have to swarm or get in a pick up group in PoJ or equiv. I never have 8 hours to go on a raid. LDoN gives me the opportunity to get great gear without raiding and to good adventures on my schedule. Yes they get repetitive but so does everywhere else.
