    glorius oddball groups

hehe just had a interesting adventure had a ranger me and war as melles a druid a shamen and a mag bit oddball group for ldon since no real steady healing. But it worked out real well only had two deaths both of them being mine :lol but druid managed the healing well enough the war being only tank managed to tank well enouge and others filled their slots the way they should have .but got interesting when shaman went afk for awhile. mighta fell asleep not sure said he was really tired alot. which further increased my details to puller CC mana source, downtime regener, and now slower. I have heard some some adventures of being only paper armors as I call em never seen a victorius one though.Amazing we pulled through with little problem at all. Did get another bard beliver now though from the ranger :D anyone else get sorta oddball groups like this and still win with time to spare.

Hi all! Long time lurker first time poster. Just had to reply to this post after the oddball group I had today in LDoN. It was me (56 bard), 2 wars, pally, Necro and Shammy all mid 50's. We had searched for a healer forever, and finally just grabbed the Shammy. All we could get was a 21 collection. No one had really high hopes for us but it worked out great. We had great AC and DPS with our melees. Necro slowed and debuffed, and Shammy healed. I busted out my Breath of Harmony and Battle Drummer's Main Gauche and did the following twist. Haste Overhaste Mana Song Nillipus' Niv's (Clicky on BoH) It worked great! Shammy was able to constantly cannabilize and regen/rune really helped with the heals. We even lost one of our warriors for a good half hour and still suceeded !(without a minute to spare) Personally, oddball groups can make LDoN a lot less of a grind. It can be a great challenge, and it's fun to try new things. :)

    Re: glorius oddball groups

Did a group with a druid (58), 2 x bards (65) :) , sk (63? i think it was), monk (63) and a ranger (65)... As you can see the druid was our only healer... and lowest lvl :o We complete our mission collect 21 with about 15 min left ;) Not bad imo... the other bard was pulling and he had two death - kinda feel bad cause it was partly due to me being off on the cc  Actually been grouping with another bard a few times lately - very interesting... ..well that was my oddball story :) /trazom

    Re: glorius oddball groups

I was once in an LDoN with two necros, a ranger, a cleric, and a druid. It was the very first LDoN I ever did, come to think of it. We lost, but it was understandable considering it was a rescue mission in Deepest Guk (and we only lost by about two minutes, too. =/)

    Re: glorius oddball groups

Too many people think you HAVE to have a cleric in the group as a healer, that's BS. I went an entire weekend this weekend in LDON without a cleric, didn't die once and finished every adv sucessfully. I love oddball groups. here's a real oddball group that I did in the plains with my retired sk in the early 50s. 2 wizards, 2 rogues, 1 ranger and my SK. The ranger was the healer :) Let's just say that things died very very fast :)

    Re: glorius oddball groups

I sometimes play my 51 cleric in LDoN groups - Often I am completely underutilized as a healer and I end up stunning and nuking and healing the shaman because I am FOM. Basically the group could have done without me and used the paladin and shaman to heal. I have met people who wont do LDoN without a cleric but they are not required.

    Re: glorius oddball groups

The oddest group I ever played with in LDoN was bard (me) 2 beastlords, 2 necros, and pally tank, all 65. The pally healed what little damage we took and they were killing mobs literally faster than I could pull. I ended up pulling multiples and mezing them in camp, it was the only way to pull fast enough. :lol It was a normal misson in Miragul's, so the necros and pally were in their element. We completed the mission with 52 min to spare.

Best LDoN group I've ever had was me, pally, necro, beast, and 2 shamans. We finished a 30 collect in exactly 30 minutes.

    Re: glorius oddball groups

nice just went on last night with a druid as healer and shamen slower and back up healer. except for the guy complaining like hell that we was gona lose cause we had no cleric and throwing fits when ever I went to inspect a barrel or chest to see what kind of trap it was. Everything else worked well even finished with 40 minutes left for a 23 collection for everfrost. Did feel a bit odd though cause I wasn't pulling had a second bard doing that. much to the amazement of our tank two bards can work together just fine in mid 50s ldon. group was druid, shamen , bard ,bard, rogue , shadowknight bit differnt but still worked wonders

ROFL I can imagine Jackstraw, you had you, a pally, and four pet classes... That's 10 folks doing damage to mobs. I bet you litterally tore that zone up! Last night I did Guk for the first time. Not pleasant. Was sort of an oddball group though it did'nt try to be one. We had two rangers, a necro, a druid (healer), a pally and me. Despite my death, we won with time to spare (also a collect 30) but it was very odd, and not just because it was completely new to me and I had DMF the whole time, ack. Hehe Sinfonian

    Re: glorius oddball groups

My typical LDoN groups have a druid for the healing and the pally for back up. A guild mate who's dual-boxing. Anywho, no matter the composition, when the three of us group, we can add anyone else and always win. When just join a random group, the odds are against us as there are several newb 50-60 folks out there, if ya know what I mean. Plus I have run into several ego issues and just plain dumb newb mistakes (i.e. waking every mezzed creature in the room). I've had a wipe or two with friends, but we always win on normal or hard missions. Although Hard Rescues can be a bugger. It's great to throw someone into the mix and see what they do. The folks who can adjust their skills, as us bards do, tend to be the one's ending up on my friends list. The best LDoN I experienced was a Ranger who decided to go on autofollow then afk without telling anyone. So we were less one tank, who obviously didn't aggro or snare anything and still won. The worst LDoN I experienced was a pick up group of one egotistical bastage SK, a rogue who woke all MoBs I mezzed, a cleric who disbanded after a partial wipe, but before any rezzing, a decent druid and myself the night after lull nerfage. Well I died twice on overpulls and didn't have time to get CC on the first one and got overun by awakened MoBs on the second one. They blamed me for the cc issues, which may have been valid had I not look back on my logs to see "a blahdyblah has been awakened by the dumb-arse rogue" "Wiladancer is gettin his arse handed to him by a blahdyblah" So after getting a lecture by the SK who has a chanter on how bad I was at cc, I decided it was time to log. Stick with those you know if at all possible. Just my 2cp worth. Wila the newb

    Re: glorius oddball groups

Being a big fan of LDON I will do a ldon with any type group. One of the best ldon I had was a 4 man group in MM (even though i don't care for MM much). The group was 65 bard(me), 65 druid, 65 SK, 65 rogue. That put me on pull, slow, and mez duty along with DPS and mana. On second pull druid dies to and add that was doted by someone. :o The SK, rogue and I finish off the 2 mobs and med up. We keep going, with the SK Proc heals and Tapping mobs he kept himself and me pretty well healed. Rogue of course laying down the DPS by the time the druid got back to us we had collected 10 out of the 24 we needed. Total i think this adv took us like 55 minutes. It was a good run and everyone had to be on their toes, I had a blast.
