    Re: glorious oddball groups

I've leveled from 20 up to 38 now in LDoN with just me and 2 beastlords (rl friends). We tear through every adventure. Usually takes about 30-40 minutes, and we get about 2 yellows, much more if we stay the extra 30 (we normally don't). Don't listen when people say you won't get much exp without a full group (at least at low levels). The few times we have invited others to join us, we get no where near as much exp, and it doesn't really go any quicker. I pull, tank, and snare and the BL and their pets just slaughter the mobs and heal (though it is a small heal). I just keep hp/mana song up at all time, and we have no problems. Very very fun.

    Re: glorious oddball groups

Was asked by a 46 necro to join a MM LDoN. I went along and ended up the MT (again) as well as puller. Our group started as me (51 Bard), 51 cleric, 51 'chanter, 46 necro, 50 druid, and 50-51 mage. Well, this is a kinda low dps group, but everyone was ok with trying a slaughter. we had to kill 51 in 90 min. When we entered the dungeon, the mage couldn't get in. He tried loggin out and back, could get the adventure message (alt + v) but still wouldnt let him in. We kinda thought he didnt have LDoN, but he was promising he did and had been on adventures. Oh well. So now I see a real problem getting the kills in time, but we go on, and are on a good pace, needed about 14 kills in 15 minutes or so (still not on pace, but I felt a good pace). I pull a tormentor and get an add and someone dotted the add. Not sure what was going on, but root apparently didn't work and the necro stood in and got killed (must have been the one who dotted). we continued, killed the two, but the death kinda made us face the reality we weren't going to make it. While waiting for the necro to catch up with us, we killed a few more, but without his pet dps, it was just slow(er). we ended up with 10 to go with 5 min left. I told the group we obviously weren't going to make it on time, and no reason to get killed trying, lets go for consolation victory. Well, once the failure message pops up, the necro (remember he was the guy who started the group) gated, went afk and then logged. The remaining four of us continued and managed to complete with about 5 min to spare. Funny thing is, I bet if we had a collect, even with the loss of the mage, we would have been able to collect the 23 or so in the 40+ kills we were able to do within the regular time. Anyway, what a group. We did get our 4 point consolation, and I got about 5 defense skills. Badji Minstril on Ayonae Ro

    Re: glorious oddball groups

Well I have only tried this with my main bard which is well equipped and a Pally friend who is similarly equipped but he would start the group and use the LFG feature and pull in only rogues and wizzies and high DPS folks. No healer of any type (well he has some decent heals). Those were always the fast clearing groups. Never did much Hard LDoN with these groups though.

    Re: glorius oddball groups

I will pretty much do any normal ldon with any group makeup. As long as you play it smart, you can succeed. You do not always need a cleric as the dedicated healer, or warrior for dedicated tank, or shaman for dedicated slows, or chanter for dedicated crowd control. Of course many here already know that! ;) Regarding the topic of this thread, the most unusual group I have been was for two normal adventures in EF. Was me, druid, and four necros, 63+ as the average level of the group. Did both collects in about 45min each. It was not too shabby of a group if I say so myself. :)

    Re: glorius oddball groups

Best LDON group I've ever had was (all 65's) Bard (me, who acted as the slower), Shaman (healer/nuker/DoTer), Necro (our tank ;) ), Mage, Wizard, and a Ranger. We are all from an Elemental guild, except the Ranger (who actually fell asleep half-way through the adventure). With Mage and Bard damage shields, my 50% slow worked very well, since it only added to our DPS and the Shaman had no problem keeping our Necro healed. Even pulling one, then leaving immediately to pull another, I usually couldn't chain pull as the mob was dead in about 10-15 seconds. I ended up pulling 3-4 at a time, and keeping them mezzed, sometimes off-tanking if I could hold aggro, and we finished the adventure in about 22 minutes. Too bad they have that stupid time restriction where you have to wait about 40 minutes from the time you start one to the time you get another :?: Question: Just got enough points to get the 75 HP lifetap proc from BB, and was wondering if I should aug my Epic with that, or augment my mainhand weapon (don't have a very good one yet, waiting for either the Mephit Talon from PoEb or a RoX). I'm thinking of maybe aug'ing both with the proc, but might want to stick a DD proc into one of them, or one of the Rune augs. Anyone got any advice on what I should aug my weapons with? Thanks in advance ;)

    Re: glorius oddball groups

What I have heard the lifetap aug has very high resist rate. I got the ice dam aug from ef on my lib and are planning at some point getting the disease based proc aug from Rujarkin to put on my epic. Afaik all the augs are lore so you can't have the same aug in both your primary and secondary... haven't tried this tho. Traz

    Re: glorius oddball groups

oddest group overall ? cleric, wizard, me - in plane of earth =P was quite funny, we even lived through resisted slows. oh, cleric was tanking btw =P thats the most hillarous fact about that group. though she tanks alot. its nice when setting up a group with her, we 2 are tank/healer and puller/CC/slower already, so can basically fill with anything you want =P was a nice fast ldon when we took 2 rangers, a rogue and a wizard into group =P

Craziest oddball group I have had was 4 monks, one ranger and me in KC :). We even managed to get to the hands room and clear it, we died to a double Warlord spawn sadly enough :\. With 56 I was the highest level in the group, ranger was lowest with 48 and the monks were between 50 and 53.

    Re: glorius oddball groups

We have this cleric on Saryrn that loves to pull. I always let anyone that wants to pull do it. Even with bad pullers we still win normals. This guy is great though. Very good chain, usually singles and always calls out his adds.

Won a (normal) Tak adv with Beastlord 64, War 62, ranger 65, wizzie 65, Necro 65 and me bard 65. Ranger was main healer. Very good DPS so everything went fine and was fun even if the ranger went LD three times... Needless to say , I tried hard to have single pulls.

    Re: glorius oddball groups

The last LDoN adventure I participated in, I was grouped with a 24 Ranger and a 25 Beastlord. I was level 22 at that time. Thats right, just the 3 of us. We signed up for a 21 collect normal adventure in Everfrost and started off almost wiping because the Ranger started pulling everything in the first room. We kill all of the mobs and I take over the pulling spot and everything is going pretty good. Well, 20 minutes into the adventure, the Ranger decides to leave due to work so that leaves the Beastlord and I to try and finish the adventure. By this time we've only been able to collect 7 items. Next thing I know, the BST leaves 15 minutes later. I'm stuck in the adventure with 20 minutes left and 7 more items to collect. I say what the f*%K and keep going. I didn't quite finish the collection assignment within the amount of time given, I had 2 items left to collect by the time the adventure timer ran out. but I was pretty pleased with my progress and quite disgusted with the 2 people who left me in the adventure. I wish I had won the adventure so that I could have sent /tells to both of them, rubbing my victory in their faces. Moezart 23 Half Elf Bard Veeshan
