    Ok, now I'm pissed!

GRRRRRRRRR  I got a spare Call of the Banshee from a spectral turnin, so I put it up for sale for 4k on my mule. I normally don't do that but I just bought Requiem of Time for 4k and wanted to replenish the bank... An hour later it's sold, great, now a bard has a song that is decent for a semi-decent price. WRONG! I do a search for songs (looking to get Lullaby) and what do I see? That same person what bought my song is now selling it for 14k! That's highway robbery! If I wanted to stick it to bards I would have done that myself. GRRRRR There otta be a law! /rant off Sinfonian

If someone pays 14k for it thats their fault. I personly don't buy spells untill I check the prices for a few days(unless it's really cheap.)

    Re: Ok, now I'm pissed!

I've had this happen to me a number of times, only with equipment not songs or spells. Most of the time I could care less, I've gotten the price I thought was fair for the item and I don't have to spend forever in mule mode trying to sell something. In your case Sin you will probably get the joy of watching that bozo sit on that song until he bleeds since I doubt anyone will buy it for that price, unless they stole the pp from someone.

heh.. I never buy songs.. (probably why I still don't have any of the 63+ chants songs except for plague), any songs that I got dups with, I give away to any bards in guild that need it, or to bard friends that I see on... still looking for my chants still, but not a big deal. don't do much chant kiting anyways

    Hey Barbai ---
ouch reminds me though i gota look into some songs myself get my next series. but man songs are expensinve as h*ll it takes me forever to get 1k how and I supposed to get the 50k people are asking for one song. I know your supposed to get more money as you lvl but im 55 currently and I HATE farming but that seems to be the only way to get money now.
There is another way to make money.. and I have found it to be very effective... I buy low priced songs I see in the bazaar, and mark them up. I don't just limit this to songs either.. I buy and resell just about anything. Consumables are the best, food and drink, once used.. are gone.. they will not return to the market. If you buy/sell armor for example, when your customer upgrades, that item is then re-sold. Now, before ya'll start flaming me ... bah .. go ahead.

ROFL, I won't flame you, but did you notice you suggested doing exactly what my rant thread was ranting about? :lol I guess my anger was that I want songs to go to bards that need them, not resellers to marke them up for a profit. Don't get me wrong, if I have an extra copy and nobody I know needs it, I will sell it, for a reasonable sum. Though I too have been known to buy something at a fire sale and resell it, so I suppose it could apply to songs. /shrug As for that person, she doesn't trade all that often, but when I see her on, it's still there. Still at 14k, and not selling. YAY! :) Sinfonian

Notice? I wrote that on purpose .. hehee. If I were to get a tell from a bard .. asking me if I'd lower my price.. I'd say yes... that same tell from a Wizzy .. gets ignored :)

    Re: Ok, now I'm pissed!

I used to get upset with this when I started vendoring at night. I view prices in the bazaar, and typically price the item the lowest available at the time. This usually works for me. If someone buys my wares for my price and then jacks them up, I'm a bit disappointed that someone isn't using it, but then again, I just made money. I agree that food/water items sell pretty fast, but you have to actually like doing tradeskills for money. I personally would rather be spending time getting exp. I only vendor when I'm done playing for the night (and hope I don't disconnect). Sorry to jump off your topic Sino, but I agree, it's frustrating to have your gear re-auctioned for more just because someone wants to make a profit. I have better things to do then pretend I'm a stock broker.

    Re: Ok, now I'm pissed!

Its always going to be this way though. The only thing you can do is fight back, I make all my dough buying and selling haste items and doing sub-combines for people trying to get skill-ups. Youd be blown away by how much people will pay for small things like swatches and metal bits, there's more but I'm not going to turn this into a money guide. Go to eqtraders.com and look at all the sub-combines people need for different skills to get higher combines and skill ups. I'll give you a hint, baking and tailoring have netted me the most profit. People are lazy, this especially applies to people with money 90% of the time. I now have almost all of my skills above 100 (I havent completed updating that section of my magelos yet). I also have another acccount and computer I do this with so I can sell while I play with my main. On avergae I'd say I make about 4k for 1-1.5 hours but sometimes it takes longer, all depending on who's working on what skills. Give it a shot, I got my druid's tailoring to 250 and it was torturous doing all the stupid sub-combines so I got the idea to do this and I've been making bank since. Best of all the same people will come to you over and over again, if you talk to them you can get a good regular system down and take orders, I did that for awhile with a necro and we actually became good friends from it, we hunt regularly all the time now. Try it out, just my 2cp if you want baking components go to Jaggedpine, if you want tailoring go to EK or Nek. :?:

    Re: Ok, now I'm pissed!

Lol, I hear ya, but... I have to admit, this is how I make my money. There is a difference though, I buy cheap and sell fair. You can still make a lotta money that way, some little gnome the other day was selling an acrylic chestplate, 38 AC and a bunch of stats for 3k, on Tholuxe Paells, this goes for as much as 10k. So i put it up for 7k and then watched tv for an hour, I came back and it was gone. Someone might have been reselling it i don't know. Just an example that not all resellers are bad, hehe. 8) ~Ellros
