At 55 I'm pretty sure SG will still be good experience (though it's hard to pull me away from PoD atm). Can anyone tell me how hard this camp is to get to and hold, and lastly how many it would take with moderate levels (55-60). I have heard this camp is long for the mask, but I figure if I can do it while exp is actually involved, it may not be so painfull.

I think a group of 55-60 could easily handle this area. Best area to hunt is bottom of well. There is a room with 3 spawn and when those are cleared out you can go across tube to the other side with random spawns. I would pull 3 room to the access tube into the room. Nothing ssees through invis but Seahorse. But when they do it can get pickly. Basicly i would lull 1 and pull 2 with charm. Then i would have pet beat up mob while i sat back and dotted and stayed healthy as possible. The only problem i contiunally ran into was running when low on health. I would chain and let pet wackem. However they would creep some while chained. THis could lead to many angry visitors. Once i had the 1st dead i would dot/charm the second. When it got low enough i would chain/ melee till dead. Then i would grab last and dot/charm. Once the room was broken it was fairly easy to solo. It took about 2 weeks of stright soling 1-2 hours night average to get the thing to drop. I have heard them drop on first kill :( but not for me. Also the Neriad Mistres was a uncommon spawn, but only spawned in same spot . I would go in invised and do some scouting first. EB item is a MANDATORY. You will not be able to substain EB and other songs while doing this, if you can *Hats off* hope it helps

I finally got my shawl a few months ago.  All I have to say is be very, very patient.  It's about as frustrating as the halfling mask.  If I remember correctly, the only mobs that drop the shawl now are the princesses which are an uncommon spawn, but multiple can be up at the same time. 

If you can not quickly rip though these by yourself, I would suggest getting a nice group together and go for experience.  Just be patient, you might get it in the first spawn or might take several weeks as it took me.

Just so you realize how un-common they are, I got 7 Sargasso Spears (http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=23746) and about 200k in tribute with Netted Kelp armor and other uncommon drops also while I was doing this.  The Spears are lore and do not drop all that often even though Alla says they are common (gotta gate out each time and put in bank and on alts).  I sold each for 45k-60k in the bazaar, the stats stink but they are one of the few that proc Snare.  Long story short, you can make a lot of money while camping this illusion item.

 If anyone still has those maps, please feel free to respond and I'll host them.  I'm camping the neriads by the big palance (not sure if that is the right place), but a princess was up, so I imagine its the right camp...

 1 down, we'll see how many more it takes. 

 

 Here you go, I made you up a quick map.  This should help you out a bit.  Being lvl 80, you should be able to clean out all of the spawns along the green line and even go back and kill some of the Sirens around the "swim down" well area for cash loot.  You can even bring a toon and PL him while you are at it.  Most mobs will con grey or an occasional green.

Great stuff, I've been camping the spawns in the south/east area, where the two diamond shapes are (with your green lines) and just a bit further in.  Looks like I should traverse that entire green line.
