    Intimidation?

Does anyone ever use this skill for anything? Do you have to train it at the particular guy even after you have put one point into it? I have been trying to get skill ups in it during down time, waiting around for stuff and I have never seen a skill-up. :( Just curious as to its use.

    Re: Intimidation?

No...I never use the skill Yes, you have to train it at the same GM, even after you put a pt into it. Intimidation doesn't really seem to go up until it gets into the mid 80s, then it really starts to move. No real use for it other than to say you have it maxed, just like your H2H. :)

    Re: Intimidation?

Yeah, I think I blew tons of training points to get it to 39, but found that I'd never use it as we have two fear songs, one AoE and he other single target. Why would I use a skill that may or may not work? Plus, if you casually use it to skill up in groups, you get a mob that spontaneously is feared... name me a zone where that is a good thing? So I rank the utility of this skill below our formerly (and sort of still) useless pick lock skill (still erks me that I can't pick LDoN chests, but can sense traps and disarm them with ease). :lol Sinfonian

    Re: Intimidation?

Sure I use this one. Whenever I am just doing an xp group and it's getting late and we're waiting on a pull, I like to target a player and use it. It doesn't scare them, but suddenly all the people that actually play with sound on hear you swinging and wonder wtf is in the camp LOL :lol Other than that, nope, never use it :)

I thought both of our fears were AE? :?: What is the single target one?

    Re: Intimidation?

Ok, so it shows I never use Song of Midnight. It is PBAoE, not single target. Tells you how often I fearkite since my 30s... I stand corrected. Just be glad I didn't edit my original post and make your question look REALLY Silly! :lol Thanks for pointing that out. Sinfonian

    Re: Intimidation?

Yes, Intimidation works well when you are buffing up or lfg somewhere and want to either scare a wanderling spiderling or mess around with a monk. Intimidation with Iksar illusion does look rather cool. If for some reason you ever want to target a mob clear across the zone though, Intimidation has no range. I dont think I have ever seen it work on an even con mob though, and I dont believe it causes aggro unless you stick it.

    Re: Intimidation?

There is one added benefit to ID, kick... a successful ID is the only way a bard can kick, other than that it's pretty useless and more of a novelty than anything else.

    Re: Intimidation?

I giggled reading this.. I have also came to the same conclutions, its practicaly usless.. but when I see a monk showing off, I like to switch this on. My Favorite has to be while I am an iksar. But unlike a monk who is limited by his race, we just slap on another mask and we do something new. Been times I have gotten some tells asking why/how I did that, so many people have no clue to the skills that a bard gets. for example, It's amazing the amount of players I have met 50+ that don't know that bards can track. :D (just had to add that bit about the mask's, so this post is edited.)

    Re: Intimidation?

The only use I've ever gotten out of this skill is the Kick at the end of the sequence actually does a few points of damage, hehe. And people always say "WTF? Bards can Kick?"

    Re: Intimidation?

Ok, I'm stumped. Granted I have no use for such a skill, but I can't seem to find it. I looked at my skills, and it's not listed as one of them. I went to the Bard GM in PoK, Kelethin, Qeynos and Freeport, but I have not found anything in the skills of my trainer or my skill abilities that says I have or could train in Intimidation. The only skill left on all the GM trainers listed that has yet to be used is Riposte (which will soon be trained). Did I miss something? My character was AFK for a year, but I don't recall seeing this skill at anytime. Is it a bard thing or is it a race thing(half elf btw)?

Try the Bard GM upstairs in Freeport. He's the only one you can get it from. I believe his name is Caskin Marsheart.

    Re: Intimidation?

Its a great skill if you and your monk friends want to make a bad kung-fu movie. But since we dont get feign death its cool cause we always win in the end! }:) But yeah I am one of the old school bards that had on a pair of every weapon type in my bag and would try to make all skills. I got fed up when pick lock and detect trap was useless in the old days. I come back and I find that its actually kinda usable and I have skills of 24!

    Re: Intimidation?

I found a new use for it. Me and 3 guild bards were waiting click down to CoDB to do Bertox last night. You can line 3 bards up side by side, have them hit Intimidate at the same time and Viola!! Boy Band.
