Gah! So yesterday I spend 2 AAs on my first level of Ayonae's Tutelage. Now, for some people AAs flow in like rain in the Karanas. However, I have limited play time, so they are fairly slow for me- I get one AA about every other day or a little more at level 65. So I like my AAs spent to actually *mean* something!
So off I hop to my favorite farming ground (saving money for ornate boots since I own no flags) and am all hyped to see what improvement I have on my damage songs now that I have put my first pair of points into the ability.
Chant chant chant (wait for first damage report to come in)........
117 from 65 fire chant
117 from highest poison chant
117 from highest disease chant...
Exactly the same as what I was doing before. :(
I send a tell to another 65 bard who has a ton of AAs and ask why I'm seeing no improvement. He asks if I'm using an elemental instrument.
ummm- not unless TDoK count as elemental (and yes, I know they don't)
So he tells me that the ability Ayonae's Tutelage doesn't come into play (pun intended) until you get elemental instruments.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WTF?
On the description of the AA when you go to buy it, there is nothing that mentions "only those who have elemental instruments need spend these points" or any other such disclaimer. Why in the world would they leave such a "trivial" detail out??? I don't have any elemental flags, and I certainly won't be seeing any anytime soon, so knowing that oh say.... I WOULD WASTE THESE POINTS might *just* might influence what the hell I put points into.
gah.
