    So flustered

Hey all , I myself have a 65 rogue that i have worked hard and long on from day 1,Didn't PL her jsut played her out finally hit 65 a few weeks ago, but i also have a BRD lvl 37 right now named Arlington on Seventh hammer i lvoe litterly love my bard,However i feel like i am neglecting my rogue now when i play her. Do any of you ever get that way you have another alt or 2 alts that you have and you finally get tha tone to 65 start on AA's then start on your alts but then sit and think to yourself while your playing *hmmm dam should i be playing my rogue now*,I just get into a bind of should i this char or that char, i come to the point wher i have quit eq more than my share of times took off 6 months off, then 3 month ETC. I myself have been playing eq since beta and before that , been to several servers, started on rallos zek pvp due to playing UO so i was use to the pvp end of it then i got tired of runing around with all my uber gear in my backpacks back then even at 50's back then you ahd to worry lol, then i made my way to luclin got a few chars there met my EX uggg, moved to mithaniel marr for most of my days been in afterlife got tired ot the raiding deal and sme of the peeps ther so i decided to take a risk and move again, now i am on Seventh hammer and enjoining my life there wiht my 65 rogue and bard of 37.. I jsut wanted to post and see if oyu guys got to that point too n your game play lol i know i have and well look at me i have slowly made my way back to the world of norrath, more becouse its a cheap entertainment, and two you meet great people on the game and feel like your letting them down for leaving too its like, moving form a place you have known for your whole life and jsut get up and leave al that behind.....

boy do i know where you are coming from.i myself have 3 accounts now so i have a ton of alts. around 16 to be exact, and yes 1 is a rogue. but now that bidien is 65 i just can't find myself wanting to play any other toon.....so i let my best friends play some of my other toons to break their monotony.

    Re: So flustered

My main is a 65 Bard. I have a 46SK Alt that I made a when the Hole and Paineel first went live (long time ago!). I log on the SK when I have a few hours to kill and nothing big going on in the guild. But I feel guilty whenever I do. I feel like hey, in this 2 hours I could have gotten Sapper another AA... Another reason I feel guilty is that she is so twinked out. I used to hand down gear from Sapper to the SK. Now that Sapper is 65 with all songs, all gear no drop, I dont have anything else to do with any cash I earn other then twink. I find myself farming the bazaar when I have my trader on looking for gear, over the last few months I have twinked that SK out horribly, it's awful really.

    Re: So flustered

I know exactly what you mean. I started a druid 3 years ago. Wasn't my first character but she is the first one I got over lvl 20. She was lvl 62 when I started Corkay. I feel guilty not playing her to get all the keys and flags that Corkay has even though I now consider Corkay my main. I have over 160 days played on my druid and have met many, many a great people while playing her. In fact, most of my old EQ friends still call me by her name when I'm playing Corkay. I still keep her well equiped and play her on occasion. Funny how attached we can get to a toon.

    Re: So flustered

At one time on my account I had the following: Dak at 46 Ikky War 25 Eru SK 24 Dwf Pal 24 (My first character) Dwf Rog 20 DE Necro 17 Gmn Wiz 16 Open (would star a character not like it and delete rinse repeat) My twinking was insane. I would do it cause obtaining exp with my bard at the time was lame lame lame. Hell levels and all that ext ext. I am talking about 2 years ago. Since returned and my account was stripped I decided I had to make some room and some cash to get started. I cleared out almost all the alts I had except the War and Rog. Now I have a bunch of new alts. What flusters me is I will play an alt because I dont know how much time I have to play. I would hate to get a group or start and adventure then have to log off. Then, when I do decide to log off, I see I was playing long enough to get Dak some serious exp. Thats the only thing that gets me.

    Re: So flustered

I've got close to 16 alts on two accounts, but the only two alts I care about anymore are my 49 cleric and 42 shammy, both on a second account that I use to play with Sinfonian. They're semi-twinked as I still need to twink Sinfonian, hehe. I only feel guilty when I am playing one of my toons and not playing Sinfonian at the same time. In downtime, I take my cleric to PoJ and "duo" PreDR. Decent exp, no real danger (though I have died due to lack of attention to my HPs... you mean the cleric didn't SEE I was dying? :lol ) Anyway, If you are enjoying yourself, play whichever toon you want. It's a game... have fun with it. Besides, after 65 levels of twisting, at times I want to just sit there, and hit the cheal key every once in a while. :D Sinfonian

    Re: So flustered

I think that everyone feels that in one way or another. I have many alts and I will go through periods of playing them exclusively - usually to a particular goal (hit lvl 50 etc). None of my alts are over 51 and I have 4 that are 40+. I have found that Tin is a toon that I can enjoy on many levels. I think that is why I have stuck with him for so long (consistantly long). For the record: Tinuvien 54 Bard Roxx 51 Warrior (my original toon) Orlaan 51 Cleric Eenee 45 Sk Anada 40 Rogue Elran 35 Monk Gokl 21 Wiz Maybe for a beserker :)

    Re: So flustered

I certainly feel like I'm not concentrating enough on various of my alts at times. I have a 65 bard (68 aa's), 65 druid (8 aa's), 64 cleric (about 25 aa's), and 61 necro (7 aa's). Generally for exp I just swarmkite hobs & let 1 or 2 of the other chars suck up exp, but that gets boring real quick. Once the necro hits 62, I have another viable option, 3-box aggro kiting in HoH, which should work great as long as autofollow doesn't screw up as much as it does in Valor, PoK and PoT. Aside from that, I like doing LDoN's while 2-boxing the bard & necro (again, becomes more viable as necro advances), and will probably begin raiding more in the relatively near future, hopefully bringing the bard & necro. The real trick with that is everyone always wants me to bring my cleric, and they are BORING. I too have had many several month breaks in EQ, I think in large part because I solo too much. The guilds I'm in are not raiding guilds (though one is becoming more so), so there isn't a lot to do other than LDoN groups, which get old real quick. I guess the real trick is to try to not let yourself get into a rut. If you do one thing too much, you WILL get bored of the game. Try to branch out. Do new things. Help others get stuff even if you don't need anything from where you're going. If nothing else the change of scenery and activity can reinvigorate your interest in the game. Anyway, that's just my 2cp.

    Re: So flustered

So many toons, so little time. I need to win the lottery so I can stay home and just play EQ. :lol Sometimes I get burned out being a bard, so I play other characters. Playing an alt is a fun change and keeps me interested in the game. I often feel like I'm neglecting my alts if I just play Idril, or neglecting Idril (or other alts) depending on what alts I play. I also twink horrendously, because I don't really have anything that I can buy for my main anymore. I've got 16 characters (2 full accounts) and I tried for 1 of each race/class. Account 1 has: 65 bard 52 monk 32 chanter 24 cleric 22 rogue 16 warrior 15 sK 12 paladin Account 2 has: 63 cleric 57 BL 52 Druid 45 Shaman 18 mage 16 ranger 12 wiz 2 necro And no, I'm not deleting anyone to make a berserker. :p

    Re: So flustered

Well my main was actualy a ranger. It's a pretty fun class that can do melee and damge/utility spells. At some point I started a druid and bam! I can solo and also travel around fast. I can kite, quad kite, heal and etc. My druid was the first to get over lvl 50. I loved my druid. If my ranger can't kill something, I take out my druid to kill it. My druid pretty much feed/helped my other chars. My druid was great but I still wanted a tank class, particularly a plate tank class, so I made a pally. I actually made a pally 3 times but just couldn't play em to lvl 20. Yes, I made and deleted my pally char 3 times...hehe. Pally just didn't have enough offensive spells, so I started an SK. I got my Sk to lvl 40s and took a break...solo fear kiting sucks compared to druid quad kiting hehe. On top of that I made a Troll SK...exp a little slow. I then started a bard. Figure it's a plate class that can melee and sing songs that will benefit others. I got em geared up a bit at the beginning with the help of my druid. I played my bard a bit and Wow! Selo is great! Wow! It sure was fun doing AoE mez in orc highway in Oasis. Wow! I can haste and song buff everyone without mana. Wow! I can charm kite ans solo mobs. Wow! I can SOLO more effectively than my druid (I have always thought I would always be grouping). Now I love my bard the most. I have pretty much neglected/retired my other chars. One has been reduced to a bazaar mule. Druid has been downgraded to just a porter when someone needs. As for my SK, I just keep em because I have worked too much on em especially the Jboots and other nodrop gear. I actually started a BL and its a decent class too but Bard is still much betah. I got my BL to 52 and then went back to my bard. Bard is just a fun and strong class to play with in both solo and group.

    Re: So flustered

You may want to consider jotting down a couple of goals for each char to help you out. When you log in, pick which one you want to work on and just do it. The goals will help ease out of some of the feeling of neglect as you are still pursueing a goal. I have 4 accounts and have the ability to 4 box right now. I am actively playing 5 char atm and have 2 others I pop on. I'm running: 65 war (134 aa) 65 ench (43 aa) 62 druid (34 aa) 62 cleric (40 aa) 32 wiz Right now I'm working aa for the cleric/druid, although I drag all 4 along and just work on aa until friends join me and then I start dropping folks out. The big thing is, the goals give me a bit of guidence and I don't get that neglect feeling anymore. I also have planned groups on Mon, Wed, Friday for the War and Wiz so that mixes things up a bit. The bottom line is do what makes you happy. This is a game and should be fun. If setting a few goals for each char will help you out, try it. Enjoy

    Re: So flustered

i don't even count the little guys... 65 druid on one account, 65 bard and cleric on the other, both of which i count as my primaries. yes, i feel like i'm neglecting the babies (highest is 42? necro and 40 ench). on top of that, hubby works so he wants me to play HIS 65 warrior to keep him caught up :o essentially, i just play who i want to play when i want to. i love my two ladies (bard/cleric) both a ton, they just each contribute something different to the game and how much i put into it. it is hard playing the cleric as EVERY friend i know created a cleric to follow in my footsteps :lol it's especially hard when both my ladies are in the same guild... cuz guess who the guild wants =/ even when i state the bard as my current main. *sighs* just try hard not to guilt yourself. it's a game, the toons will wait for you.

Yea i think i have come down to that,The time i get on i will jsut say bah bard time heck with my other chars they can wait now, i myself use to 2 box and 3 box at one time but reduced my systems down a bit adn took the two back into my company so i am back with 1 system again but even still thats ok.. Yea i aswell have put lots of time and money into my bard even though he is only 37 :p But like you all said it's only a game and the game is here to be able to enjoy yourself and get out of the real-life for a little and have a little fun.But it is flustering with so many chars but oh well i think imight just reduce my chrs tht are low low lvl and jsut remove them from my login list, kinda n a way looknig forward to seeing how this new beserker class turns out aswell.. But for me i have Drae 65 druid 220aa's Mithaniel imryll 45 monk Mithaniel between these two i deleted all my low lvl ones on seventh now Tammie 65 rogue 30aa's Arlington 37 Bard Tameka 35 Necro Cypher 24 Ranger Draee 24 Druid Ishvar 10 Beastlord Larista 29 Enchanter and a wizrd i dleeted a few weeks ago that was 26, was thinking on getting a gm to bring it back and get thatup instead of my druid due to having a druid alrdy on adifferant server. ;)

    Re: So flustered

well.. I tried.. I really, really tried to start an alt shammy... got to level 4 :o :lol and promptly, went back to my bard.. I just can't do it.. so now I don't even bother I do have level 10 rogue... as my highest alt :lol but he's just sell stuff right now.. I never went back to him since the earily days, when I was trying to make a decision on what type of character to play.. got both the rogue and bard up to level 10..... and suddenly.. the bard kind of took off....... :lol must be that selo's took over... So the rule.. if you don't want to feel flustered or guilty.. don't start an alt.. so you don't have to make that decision on what character to play :)

    Re: So flustered

Ldon makes it even worse, i mean i can play an alt and make some xp and a couple of points from a win, or my main and make 51psts and around 1/2 an aa. Hard to get excited over 2 pts. Tho to some extent im lucky. A 65 paladin is only for grouping i still cant solo, but my 33 mage and 29 bard especially dont need a group to do something fun. So i log on main, lfg till i get too bored and then go play an alt
