How to raise Picklock ;) *Yea, prolly its a bug* [lvl 47+needed]

Well, usually im not a person who uses bugs, but i found out this :P Get yourself a picklock and move to Plane of Tranquillity. When you zone in from PoK, your staying in a star-formed room with one Entrance and a huge Book in the middle. Jump on that Book, [there are 3, 2laying on a table, one *staying*] and face the entrance. Take your picklock on the mouse cursor and click on the entrance.... Click often :P You should get a message "You failed to picklock that..." Every click you do. But also every click can be a skillup =) Works till 125, didnt try with rouge, but as 125 was our cap, i was happy :P If you dont get the message, you might have to test some positions on that book... more left... more right etc. =) Good luck ;) Did it from 20-125 in about 2mins =) Please dont flame me now, cuz using bugs hehe ;) anyway we already reported that on our server :P

This has been around a long time so I don't think you will get Flamed. You only need to be lvl 46 to get into POT. Their is also a place in Timorous Deep you can to this to for those under lvl 46. ;)

You probably weren't holding your lockpicks on your cursor when you clicked it..

Tried this out a few nights ago, worked perfectly, just make sure you have the lockpicks on your cursor. Went from 50-125 in about 2 minutes flat.

Just click on the picks as if you were moving them from one inventory slot to another. This puts them on your curser. Now move the curser to what you want to pick and click again. Keep clicking until the your skill raises to the number you desire. If you were actually picking a lock, you would click until the lock openned. I raised all my picking skills in the Befallen and it took a good long while. This sounds like it would be easier and faster. Happy picking.

ok duh im blonde. it is left click, then left click over the entrance door. fyi the message is 'you have succeeded in unlocking ...' not failed. but i did find a faster way instead of using the mouse to left click over and over hit the 'U'se button. i have mine set to default U. this will be same as left clicking the mouse, but to me is faster to use the keyboard then mouse. great bit of information. now to find place for disarm trap and detect trap. my picklocks is now maxed at 125 and that took just over 3min. had real low skill in it.

You can raise disarm and detect trap anywhere. Make a button and push it repeatedly.

To raise disarm traps, go to Sol A and there are multiple traps in there that you can click forever until you max your skill, no reuse time either.

Or you can just stand in PoK and hit the button...

..or you could just map a hot key with disarm or sense traps to your forward key and forget about it.. take a look a few weeks later and it'll be maxed. BTW.. if you're low level you could go to befallen and pick the first locked door you come across, this is doable at level 12 or so. In fact, why not just go to The Hole entrance and pick the rock door..

Re: How to raise Picklock ;) *Yea, prolly its a bug* [lvl 47+needed]

Seeing as bards get Picklock at, like, 10, now, i suppose this tip will be much more useful, but the easiest place i've found to work on pick locks is Paineel. Just after you zone in, you should see a giant hole... follow the path right around the hold, if you go under the roofed-tunnel, learn left from right :P You should come to what looks like a dead-end but this is just an illusion.. it is really an elevator to the city but you have to unlock it. There is a long, thin rock on the ground. this is the switch, use your lockpicks on that. This zone is nice because there is little to no chance of getting attacked by anything, even at level 10. This is a newbie zone. Another benefit of the paineel zone is that you can work on swimming and pick-lock at the same time, and wind instruments, if you need it. Next to the Warrens zoneline you will be in a circular room with a broken fountain in the center and an erudite. Take the path opposite the way you came in (not the warrens entrence) and you should head down a path to a lake... in the lake is a rock formation on the wall... this is a secret door to the Hole (or 'the Ruins of Old Paineel' as it has been renamed). You will need Enduring Breath for this trick, not hard to obtain, Singing Steel Bracers, Fishbone earing... or if you're lvl 16 you can use the EB song from highkeep with a flute and work on three skills at once. I swim into the wall, just above the secret door, using auto-run into the corner so I work on my swimming. Then i switch to third-person view with my lockpicks and keep clicking the door. Viola. Oh, and one last side note... although Bards cannot open it, the vault behind the bank in Freeport is great practice for rogues.

Paineel sounds good too yea, but at PoT you can chainclick and every click=Try. Dunno if thats the same in paineel... P.S.: Its Singing Steel Gaunts which have Enduring Breath :D Bracers are Damage shield ;)
