Dragon Slayer required, experience not necessary

I've been searching through some of the usual everquest databases and I haven't found hide nor hair on the necessary raid composition to kill Gorenaire. As the reign of the manaburners has come to end, Gorenaire is often up on the Quellios server so I'm hopefully getting my guild to take a crack at her. So far from all reports she has in the vicinity of 32k hps, quads for max 520, AoE fear and 750dd, I've also heard rumours of an Aoe slow but that's not confirmed. My guild is composed mostly of level 60+ characters, we have a good mix of classes though maybe a bit soft on wizards and mages which could sting if she does AoE slow. Anyone have suggestions on force organization, pulling strategies, more fun facts about Gorenaire, etc. would be appreciated. }:)

As a pre-Velious mob, she has a max of 32k HP, so that part is correct. Her DD is 750, I think (can't remember precisely) and she does hit for 520...though I'm not certain that she quads (not being a tank, I tend to not get hit by her, or die too quickly to make a definitive statement on that). And yes, the 750 DD is also an AE slow. Not sure the percentage on it, but it's significant and damnably annoying. It is *the* main reason that any Gorenaire raid fails, having your entire melee force slowed is gonna drop your DPS to a dismal number. A good number of 60+ characters should be able to drop her easily, though. If you can drop Velious mobs of any significance, you should have no problem with Gorenaire. One point of note you may want to consider is that with dot stacking, a druid/shaman/necro heavy force can produce huge dps that doesn't depend on the melees not being slowed. A druid can produce 2k hp of damage in 1 minute (33.3 dps) with 2 dots, and necros and shamans can do more. In this case the melee would basically be there to keep her entertained while the dots do their work. Oh, and watch the CH.

If she didn't summon. I would be there. My motto: If it doesn't summon, its kiteable.

Something to consider that the rest didn't mention. As with most Kunark bosses casters MUST be in melee range to land a spell. Tamb 58 Bard of Lanys

Ok, here we go. Melees are practially useless, except for tanking. Gorenaire's AE is ok; I believe resist gear matters not (correct me if I'm wrong). The biggest part about her AE is it has a slow component. Levels are what matter. Have someone kite her around to drain her mana, then she can't cheal. In order to drain her mana, she has to cast on you, so wear your resist gear when kiting. In order for her to cast on you, you have to be within her kiting range. Test it out sometime. Get in range until she starts casting. You know she'll start casting when she stops. When she finishes casting and you get nuked, start running again, but always stay within nuking range. After about 10 or so of her cleric nukes, she'll have none left. Bring lots of nukers. The more the better. I would say about minimum 3 wizards, 3 druids, though when my guild did her one, we had about 6 wizards and 4-5 druids. Bring a few clerics and backup healers. Enough for one per group. DO NOT HOLD BACK. Well, hold back some. You don't want to die on your first nuke with 80m. That's pretty much there is to it. Also, get someone who has led a Gorenaire raid, or someone well-seasoned in leading raids. I would say about 3 groups to take her down, with only about 4 melees to have padding for tanking. Fight on the ice near the border of the ice and desert-grass land.
