Anyone heard a realease date on this new graphics engine?

No, and I'm really wondering when that's gonna happen. If they do revamp it, I really think it'll revitalize the game (not that they aren't making money now :p).

Not new tradeskill window, new graphics engine. Unless I missed somethign obvious, castersrealm made no mention at all of the new graphics engine.

It's right below "Patch Message" on their main page. Also when you try to log into the EQ server's it tells you that you need Directx9.0 :) .

I don't think that's quite accurate though...I know several people who were playing yesterday without Dx9.0. And the reminder in eq just said "Download it soon." I think the engine upgrade is still coming.

Heh, sorry guys I was wrong :( . Looked at another forum on this subject and someone posted a link to the official web page that says it will be in a month or two.

Hm. I have DX9.0a installed and I keep getting that message about please installing DX9 soon as well... on every time I enter the server selection window... Does this mean that EQ does not recognize that I am actually using DX9 and that I have to reinstall it once the new engine is set into motion? :mad: That would suck bigtime as I have disabled my system backupping - which prevents DX9 installing as it uses that during the install, causing it to break off and needing me to first reinstall windows itself again... grr

No it just means that they are doing a blanket announcement. I've been running DX9 for the last few months and I still got that reminder. They aren't doing any kind of autodetect, just a reminder of what's to come.

Is the new engine currently on the test server? I want to see how my system runs with it before it goes live.

If you are still running DX9.0a, you may want to see about upgrading to DX9.0b - I think that's what they are looking for when you login.
