    Instanced Zones?

Can anyone tell me exactly what this means? I read the gates_manual.pdf this morning before work but it shed no light on this subject. Anyone? Bueller? Bueller? Loouis Armsong 63 Bard

    Re: Instanced Zones?

Substitute "copied" for "instanced." In LDoN, if two groups move into the same zone, two different copies are generated, one for each group. Neither group sees the other in its copy, and spawns, loot, etc. are generated on a per-group basis. E.g., if group 1 kills big_bad_monster in the group 1 instance, that has no effect on the copy of big_bad_monster in the group 2 instance, which is under the sole control of group 2. Similarly, if group 1 sees big_bad_monster (named) and kills it to loot phat_lewt, there's no guarantee that group 2 will get the same phat_lewt from big_bad_monster, or that big_bad_monster will even appear in group 2's instance. The same thing happens if you go into the same Lost Dungeon adventure with two different groups: you'll see a different instance each time (i.e., a new copy is created on the fly for your group the first time you enter, and it disappears/becomes inaccessible 30 minutes after your time expires or you beat the adventure). Some GoD zones are similarly instanceable.

    Re: Instanced Zones?

OK that's a very cool explanation, thanks very much. My next question is, will I be able to instance a zone for myself to go swarm in? Can I take a friend? Is there a timer on the zone? Thanks for taking the time to answer :) Loouis Armsong 63 Bard

    Re: Instanced Zones?

Ok wait I'm confused now. I was under the impression that the new instanced zones were not adventurer zones. I'm trying to remember and find where I read that. So ya'll are saying that these are just more LDoN zones? If so that's kind of a let down. Thanks again for the info.

    Re: Instanced Zones?

From what I have found they are quest-given zones, and they seem to be progressional. I.E. in Barindu (off of Qinimi) you get your expedition (for the Sewer's) from a High Priest mob by hailing him AFTER you get a full group. You then go into the sewers from the right corner (from the entrance) in the temple and you are in the first (tier) of the expedition. After successfully completing this Sewer Barindu theme, you can go into the second stage of the quest/expedition. (You are given a flag at the end). I believe only one person has to have the flag in the group to progress. So, unlike LDON, it's progressional in a sense.

    Re: Instanced Zones?

haha Barbai no worries, I figured I was asking the wrong questions. I was hoping the instanced zones would be a little bit different that what they really are. In my perfect world I should be able to instance myself a zone to go swarm or kite or die or whatever I wanna do without some dumbass druid/wizard/necro getting in my way. I was hoping that was SOE's answer to making more places for solo classes to solo. I guess I should keep dreaming. I suppose it doesn't matter to me much anymore anyway since I'll be hitting 64 tonight and can go pwn some hobgoblins in PoNightmare. I've been grouping for about a week and a half, just got into BoT. Is it just me or is that place a deadlier version of Karnors Castle? I understand now why so many people were up in arms over SOE taking away the flag requirements to get into these zones. Ok off on a tangent now... /rant off

    Re: Instanced Zones?

I watched my brother do one of the instanced zones last night.. It is not timed, but things respawn. They cleared everything in the zone and they had no idea what to do after that, so they just gated :| . The hardest the things were hitting the tank were 1200 I think it was. The cleric wasn't too busy either, they would hit on average for about 600 on the tank (he has about 9.5k hp and I think around 2k AC). Anyways, if anyone has done one and knows what to do in them, please tell me :) .

    Re: Instanced Zones?

My only other question at this point is: Can I go solo or do I have to have a minimum number of people in my group?

    Re: Instanced Zones?

have to have a minimum number of people in your group... besides the stuff is level 64-65 stuff with probably around 70k hp.. so you couldn't solo very easily :p

    Re: Instanced Zones?

GoD mobs seem very low on hps compared with their damage output, but they throw in selo speed running mobs and summoners plus lots of casters. Means soloing could be very eventful if you dont know what mobs do what. And the reason they moaned about the removal of flags for BoT was the uber guilders couldnt just sit there and easily equip their twink cause noone else could get in. When you needed a raiding guild to get it ornate made em a fortune, but now they cant rip us casual players off anymore. The sooner they bin the raid menu and all flags that require more than one group the better
