    Plane Of Nightmare

Saw the post on PoN and thought this zone should also be described as well. For someone reason mobs here have ridiculous amounts of HP. The trents can double for up 300 and when they stun its quiet painful as you will see all your HP disapear within seconds. But with this aside the experience is simply amazing. Stay in PoN till 53. Anything before 53, the resists are too great and you will spend too much time chant kitting vs. actually making exp. Yard trash (arachnids, hatchlings, ravens, trents, bats) DO NOT SUMMON. A lot will still con even or yellow at 53 but dont be afraid to make that pull. North of the graveyard is an old withered tree. Make a path from graveyard to this tree, avoid large circles, adds can be an annoyane but manageable. Run through your chant kite, i recommend oos instead of chant of flame if you have it. Soloing you will see 1-2% a kill at 54 and 55. Approx 5 min per mob, usually less. Do not bother with your charm as only young bats can be charmed and i hardly see them around. However.... To speed this process up i highly recommend finding yourself a partner. Know a good necro/sk/druid? well invite them to join the fun. Run your chant kite till mob is at 90%, let the druid snare, chant to 80-85% and let the druid start dotting. Mobs will fall in about 3 min and the exp becomes slightly better then soloing. Same with necro, sk...snare at 90, at 80 let the sk or necro pet follow behind the mob and beat the nightmare out of it (refered to as aggro or reverse kitting). General rule of thumb is "they get aggro, they will die". Keep your chants on, selos recast will be needed around 70% and 30%. Have fun and much luck to you all. Hope this will help someone out.

    Re: Plane Of Nightmare

Thanks for that update! I tried to do PoN a couple of weeks ago since someone said that I could swarm up there! That was a crock (at least for me). Cant charm a thing up there. So just for giggles, I tried a chant kite of a tree. Took me 10 minutes to take it down but did get 3% exp. Again for some fugly spider. If I could maintain that rate, I could level in about 6 hours which is not too shabby! However, I had severe problems with adds and got creamed shortly thereafter. Had the same problem in PoD. Is there a spot in PoN that is good without getting adds? I saw your note of going north from Graveyard to a tree but that path was heavily camped by others. Anywhere else?

You can charm the WW's there on the other side of the Waterfall. Those are the only thing to swarm in the zone.

    Re: Plane Of Nightmare

There is always the problem of being overcamped. The next best thing is to keep going north. Past the old tree you will come into a small valley entrance. Within that small recesion are 3-4 mob spawns, each single pullable. Just run your circle in there and you should be ok, there are very few people that will move that far up unless they are heading to the goblins. Stay away from the waterfall, the hobogoblins are lightning fast, will stay right on your tail, and hit for an abnoxios amount of dmg faster then anything probably should. And yes they will summon you, so zone if you aggro them. I do know the add problem which you are talking about, just run your tight line or circle and you will be ok, ocassionally you will see an add, begin to chant it right away to build aggro then switch back. Others in the zone will be very appreciative that yours adds dont aggro them as they pass by.

    Re: Plane Of Nightmare

The normal Hobgoblins don't summon. The names ones do and the casting ones do. The normal ones hit for 355 a pop. Takes about 5 mins to Dot kite one.

    Re: Plane Of Nightmare

Awesome, thank you for that info. Unfortunetly my first and only encounter with the hobos turned quickly into the nightmare this plane is named after with me getting summonded and beaten into a bloody mess after testing whether or not i could kite them. They are conning yellow to me right now so i know the exp on them would be wonderful, i will try this tonight. I will just have to be careful which ones i aggro this time :lol

    Re: Plane Of Nightmare

You can kite the spiders and the Nitemares when you get closer to lvl 60. Because the Nitemares are lvl 62 and the higher lvl spiders are lvl 61. Those ones are 10 min kites but they can drop parchments... ^_^

    Re: Plane Of Nightmare

Do you know if they are near the same amount of exp given, the night mares that is, for something like the loroks in PoS? at 60 I was getting about 5% a kill from them, and I have neard about 8 1/2% to 9% for aa exp. I think I will try them out tonight =) But I still haven't found a good way of pulling them from that plateau they are on =P

    Re: Plane Of Nightmare

Nitemares are lvl 62 and give me 9% xp to AA and about 5% when I was lvl 60. They gave me about 3% at lvl 61. The Higher level spiders are lvl 61 and give me like 7% AAxp. I can only pull 2 from the plateau. The 2 most front ones. Change your view a couple times and click on one... then hug near the wall of the plateau. The horses path to drop down inbetween the 2 trees. They hit for 500+ and can take around 10 mins or so to kill.

    Re: Plane Of Nightmare

Wanted to make a quick addition to my starting post as i did not see anyone else make mention to this yet. The ravenous nightstalkers are low enough in level that they can be charmed. At 55 i found the experience to be amazingly fast and recommend any bard to grab this camp if it is open. To reach this camp follow the wall from the graveyard heading south (i believe), stay on the wall past the waterfall and you will find some werewolves standing around, known as the ravenous nightstalkers. You will be pulling these 4-5 at a time, hope your swarm kitting techniques are up to par because these move faster then anything youve swarmed before, luckily not as fast as the trees. I found attempting to charm without my piccolo to be a complete waste of mana even with a cha of 144. I selo's myself, switch over to piccolo, make my pet (with my piccolo i get my full charm duration 99% of the time), keep my piccolo in hand, break charm near 20% pet health, as 4 nightstalkers hit fast and hard, using invis song, switch to drum and chant kite the remaining 10-12% health, re-selo's and rinse and repeat. Do not bother with this camp if you will not use a wind instrument to charm; at 56 i find them resist way to much. As well make sure you have Flowing Thought or Mental Clarity as your mana will go very very fast. A swarm round will last no more then 10-15 minutes. I was able to do 56 in a matter of hours as well as 2 aa in 4 hours the next day. Grab a flute of eternal night if you want a nice cheap wind instrument or if you have the guild power go drop cazic thule or fright (recommend fright as he is much easier but has less chance of dropping) in fear and get yourself lyssa's darkwood piccolo. It is much easier to loot it then to buy it as the few people who come across one try and sell for 10k+ on my server solusek ro. And yes it is worth the price due to its risk/reward, only need to kill fright for one of the highest wind modifier's in game. Not many will ever see the wind instrument out of ToV so this is next best thing to me. Just as warning your second swarm might attract upwards of 6 nightstalkers. There are 2-3 that you dont see just right passed the rocks they spawn on. Just be prepared if you get 8 of them with breaking charm near 30% pet health. Do not rely on hide as i first did or you will lose some very easy experience.

    Re: Plane Of Nightmare

I just did PoD for the first time this weakend, I am level 51. Is the exp in PoN better than PoD? Or could I even do them at 51?

    Re: Plane Of Nightmare

Well PoD is much easier than PoN IMO.... PoN offers a higher level range for mobs. You could do some yard trash if you really wanted to in PoN but it's hard to kite around without getting adds and not bothering other goups.

    Re: Plane Of Nightmare

I will have to agree with paeros on this one heavily. PoD is where you should stick around will 54. Only because the yard trash in PoN is level 52+ to begin with, this means no swarm kitting the trees or spiders at until charm upupgrade. The resists will be awful to begin with and the amount of time it will take to chant kite something makes the very nice exp not even worth it anymore. At 54 resists will be plenty enough however the time it will take to chant a tree or spider makes the experience slightly better then PoD.

What about the Ravenous Beasts? What level to swarm them?

    Re: Plane Of Nightmare

For the ravenous beasts i would again recommend waiting till 54. Once again there are issues with resists and the time it will take to chant kite one. The amount of hp's they have is tremendous but looks very little when they are being hit by their friends. Stay with PoD for now till 54. Get your chant kitting down, start pulling flies 5-6 at a time because thats how the beasts will be almost every swarm pull. Get the practice in and you will be ready to rake in the exp. But once again let me stress flowing thought or mental clarity or else your just wasting your time.
