Re: Hit 49 and looking for another solo spot

From levels 45 to 51 I chant kited in Jaggedpine. The poacher camps are excellent for consistent, easy xp and decent loot. Howver, for massive xp, let me tell you what I did. First of all, there is some significant risk involved in doing this, but it works. Just north of the poacher camps is an area full of boulders along the river. No mobs ever wander into this area, making it ideal for any type of kiting. Just adjacent to this area is the river, full of mean little potameids. What I did was to levitate myself (SS boots, aria of eagles would work just fine too though) and use my speed song to run up and down the entire river several times. The potameids have a gigantic agro radius and you are almost guaranteed to agro every single potameid in the river (not in the cave though). After running up and down the river once or twice, run out into the middle of the bouldberstrewn area and wait. Potameids will begin to runcome out in droves. Start to chant kite one of them in a circle, and soon you will have all of them in a tightly clustered bunch. At this point, swarm kiting is a breeze. I was easily making half to a full yellow per pull doing this depending on how many came out. Several things to be concerned about though. First, you will take some damage, the potameids hit you when you run over them in the river and you will also probably take a few hits as they arrive in the boulderstrewn area since they come from all over the river. Second, make sure you warn the people camping the poachers that you are doing this and try to kite away from the pacher camp (common sense but these things will agro on a sitting spellcaster). Thirdly, potameid maidens are immune to charm and will have to be chant kited. Potameid guardians are immune to fire so chant of flame will not work on them. Lastly, do NOT loot the corpses. You will likely die from the massive amount of potameids hitting you. Better to leave the corpses rot trust me. Anyway, my personal record from this pull is twenty potameids. Hope this helps you out. At 47 or so, I moved from swarming Spirocs in TD to swarming Raptors in TD. The exp cranked until I was 52 and had 5 AA points, then it slowed down considerably so I left. I would really recommend it, especially if the translocator gnomes are back because it's a short hop from the translocator to Ring and Statue Island. Ring is the best, 8 or so spawns that keep you near full mana with a FT1 earring and give excellent exp for the level. No loot to speak of though, can't have everything. Sinfonian

Soloing in scarlet desert really brings in nice exp if you solo the kitties. Everything in there has nice exp, and some nice drops if you kill the named guys. I got my grail of justice in there, I have seen a belt of the surveyor drop, a prophets robe, a sun chalice, a surveyors rod which is a nice 1hblunt for clerics. Has good wis. Also the firekeepers tunic wich is a good BST thing. NOt a great place for swarming though.

Re: Hit 49 and looking for another solo spot

Well the kities dont really drop anything much, but other named guys drop the good stuff. In the tro jeg camp the named Tro jeg I think his name is the fire keeper or something, drops the tunic. Most of the other stuff drops off the named Bloodtribes. Such as the Bloodtribe prophet, or the bloodtribe surveyor, or the blooodtribe sneakster or even the bloodtribe wisman. But not really much drops off the kities. There is one kity though that drop something for the twilight quest I think but that is pretty much it.

Re: Hit 49 and looking for another solo spot

I just hit 48 at OverThere. Actually I've been there since lvl 35 :) And chant kiting works wonders at OT. I use 3 dots and selo's chain, rather than accelerando. I think there's less chance of carpul tunnel when you don't have to run around all the time ;) Anyway, at 48 I can still find dark blues at OT. At around 45-46 I was getting one blue every 3 kills. I actually managed to jump from 46 to 48 in one day at OT. :) But now at 48, it's more like 4 kills for a blue. But I think that's still pretty good. Plus it's not too difficult to solo there. No annoying Zelniaks aggroing =P And tracking is so wonderful when looking for blue mobs :) -Entourage

Re: Hit 49 and looking for another solo spot

The places I have tried have been the hornets nest in BW and Eastern Wastes. At 49 the Frost Giant Savages are dark blue still and almost 2 blue notches of exp. Also blue are most snow cougars, manticore (mad exp), wooly rhino and tundra mammoth. Manticore are usually kinda behind Giant Fort, as are snow cougar and giants...to the east of the orc fort you will find more snow cougar, wooly rhino, tundra mammoth and wooly mammoth. The only thing I found was that you had to be pretty close to the mammoths for the songs to hit, but great exp all round for all these mobs. (A Ry'gorr legionnaire wandered past (and subsequently died :) !) and he was also dark blue, the centurians are pretty much light blue though.

Giants is also working on CoV faction which you will also want for the future. I would just pull the whole giant fort with my low level slow that doesnt have a dot on it, and just swarm'em. Goes fairly fast.
