Hit 49 and looking for another solo spot

Been splitting my time between grouping and soloing on the moon, and wondered where a good spot to solo is during and after 49. I prefer charm kiting but am open to perfecting another skill. If there are some better places in Norrath, I am open to moving around a bit. My last run was in Tene Mountains, Dire Sonic Wolves make great pets. Katter

Hiya :) From 48-52 I believe, I fear kited in Dawnshroud Peeks (sometimes chant kited also-depends on the mood hehe). When you zone into Dawnshroud, go out of the building thing, than follow the left wall. You will see some tents, with npc's hangin out there, and a cave a little further past the tents on the wall. You should set camp in the open space next to the tents (righthand side - opposite side shroom patch in corner) and pull stonegrabbers to that area and chant or fear kite away. The stones can be found in the little rock piles in that area, they themselves look like a pile of rocks on the ground until you attack them. I was gettin like a blue every 3 kills at 48, and was still good xp to 52. You could also do the rockhoppers to. Just try to get to that camp spot because there are no wander'ers there to aggro (wolves and lightcrawlers were a pain - they were easy, just an annoyance) G'luck to you :D Meow~

What I did from 49-52 roughly was fear kite or chant kite the plaguebone thiefs at the BIG spires in Dreadlands. you can single pull em and adds are almost nonexistant. Also not many peeps go there except usually bards doing epic.

I did my soloing at that level in Dreadlands. South of KC, pulled doggies.

Yes I agree with Ghette unless you are feed up with DL  ! You can pull anything to the KC north wall and chant kite them without much worry of adds. By chant kiting, you do not run the risk of fear affecting other peeps pulls in that area too. I run them down the north wall to the east end and if the doggies/giants/etc are still with you you can loop around the first ruins with the mob conveniently contained within. I have not tried this with Gore yet tho :D Bardspeed, -->Audi-->

I did the same thing in DL until mid 51 and I just could not stand DL any longer. You should also be able to try Jagged Pine. I am 52 and the big griffons are blue to me still. I have been chanting mostly with them and the potties. Careful with the potties near the river though as they have some really strange pathing issues. Use you lvl 11 song to make the animals your friend when you first zone in and you will be dubious to all the bears, panthers and wolves. If you chant the giant anacondas be careful they have a ton of hit points vs the griffons. Hope this helps. :)

Re: Hit 49 and looking for another solo spot

I left DL when I got into 49, found the xp to be to slow since a bit of what I was running into were LB. Went to BW and have been having moderate success. I tried to kite in JP but F8 wasnt working for my in there so I left, since I play almost purely off of the keyboard.

Dreadlands is a good location. I fought there alot until about 51. I also spent a lot of time in Scarlet Desert - you can go all the way to 60 in this zone. Just becareful where you fight, and what mobs you are around as some will agro (Rockhoppers, Sunflowers, Cheetahs, and bugs primarily).

Re: Hit 49 and looking for another solo spot

I have found that finding good mobs tended to be harder in DL after 47. BW is treating me rather well around the giant for and another creator a bit south of it. Doing a mixture of charm/swarm kiting and chant kiting. If you can get a few of the undead apes to agro you, they work really good to swarm against.

Re: Hit 49 and looking for another solo spot

at about lvl 48 i left DL and headed to ocean of tears. there on the seafury cyclops island there is what apears to be a old druid ring. (seafury island is 2 islands away from sister isle). there i could pull any number of cyclops' and chant-kite them around the druidring. they started turning lightblue at 51. but there were some still DB. this island is also where our epic mob spawns. i also soloed a bit in maidens eye zone. pulled the gorangas and chant kited them around the rocks near the dawnshourd peaks zone. but a word of warning.. don NOT pull hunters, as they like to root and a bard that cant run is reall just a pile of bones.

I personally couldn't stand DL anymore once I hit 49, so I took off and tried Cobalt Scar. The exp here is about the same I was getting in DL at lvl 46... Excellent! And to top it off, quest gems drop off the wyverns that can be sold for about 200pp.

Re: Hit 49 and looking for another solo spot

BW was great for high 40's and is still good for low 50's. The hornets are a great target for kiting. There is a spot to the left of the zone in - a low level plateau in the mountains that is ideal to pull to and kite. After hunting there for hours, I noticed that adds are non existent to that platform/plateau. You may have to scout around a bit and find a spot that does not have adds on that edge. The bees are non casters, and the order of difficulty is ash<< cinder << ember<< scoraie The scoraie are tough. However, there is a chance that it will drop 40-50th level spells. The cinders and above also dropped pretty regularly gems that sell for 50-100pp each. There is a faction hit on the bees for the hive, whatever that is. Also, our fire DoT did almost nothing if anything for damage. And good note - the bees dont run. Also in BW, near the giant fortress are several "add free" spots in the open that are great for pulling and kiting. This is good for pulling giants, skellies and apes. I avoid the wurms because their hit radiius was just too big. Also, some of the sarnaks are casters and I avoided them too when kiting. BW is a great zone, better than DL for experience. I leveled 49-51 here almost exclusively, both in groups and kiting.

Re: Hit 49 and looking for another solo spot

I have done Jaggedpines Griffons solo for 5 lvls now they are common spawns and faction song lets you make friends with most the rest of the mobs. I used Flame and Frost Chants and selo's but then used Furfil's and sow potions for 3 song chant kiting with a charm if i get an add to save time. loot is 5gp to 5pp with word and runes plus griffene blood. A ultra rare drop is an eye of the griffon(I have gotten 1 in unknown hundreds of kills. BTW this was with a walrus drum. animals are on the Karanas hidden animal faction. I figure on soloing my AA points here.

Re: Hit 49 and looking for another solo spot

Just want to thank you Laranlron for this info on the undeads in DL at the combine spires. For those of us without PoP its wonderful because its right near the spires. Started here at 49, and was getting 2-3 segments of blue per kill on the thiefs. Still here at level 51, 2/3 of way thru level, 1 AA point done and 2/3 of the way thru 2nd AA. If noone else is fighting here this area is great. There are 7 thiefs that spawn in the same building. After you ding 49, just put your song rotation to all 3 chants, with Selo's (lvl 49-the 2 minute one) used before each battle. I use Walrus Skin Drums and chant kiting is so easy here. Mobs drop in under 2 mins, so as long as you start Selo's right before you pull it lasts through the entire battle. Also, mobs do not assist unless you physically get in their aggro range, and can be single pulled from the doorway. Lots of room to kite, so you take no damageand can pull one after the other after the other until all 7 are dead. After you take out all 7 mobs, you wait at most 3-4 mins before it starts all over again. I can get a gold (at level 51) in under 40 mins here. At 51, mobs start to turn light blue (about half the time), but the amazing thing is, dark blues still yield 2 segments of blue, and light blues yield 1 (you can actually see the exp bar move on light blue kills /boggle). These things have about 1800hps so they drop fast, just don't let em catch ya cause they hit real hard. Also, loot isn't great, but not all that terrible either, but is on average for DL - anywhere from 2g-4pp per mob (I get about 50pp for every gold of exp). And there's an iksar merchant (indiff to all) in the area that sells food and water (and with Cinda's will buy words, runes and bone chips from ya for a decent price). Thanks again, because of the awesome exp, I've decided to get my AA at 51 (well to Run 3 anyways) because it goes so fast here. I owe ya one :) /hugs P.S. A wizard friend of mine wanted to know how I levelled from 49-51 so fast so I took him here and showed him. He now thinks he should have started a bard because it's just that easy. So for all of you out there between 49-51, this is the place to hunt. Seldana Weaver of the 51st Song Brell Serilis Server
