I am a lvl 50 bard and was wondering shall I do the Quests en leiu of my Epic 1.0... I am only lacking undead bard(trak) part for Epic 1.0 so I think I know the answer, but I made this post to perhaps benefit other young bards who have yet to start 1.0... Does anyone have input on this subject? 8)

Do it!!! The epic is more than just an item, it's a milestone. If you want to skip epic 1.0 and do the prequel through to 1.5 it's always going to be your choice. I certainly wouldn't tell you to go all the way through epic 1.0 just to skip the prequel to 1.5, the original epic is more important than just an item that lets you skip a few steps in the next quest. The Mods and proc on the epic are great and the stats are necessary for any bard that is not in a full time raiding guild, but beyond that it's just a great accomplishment. I encourage everyone to do it.

Also unless you are a twink and have lots of help there is no way you can complete 1.5 prior too 65+ in all likelyhood. Guess you could get a rezz after 75% all the encounters to loot, lol. edit: Killing Trak would be quite a bit easier than killing anything for 1.5, and only takes an hour or two if udb is up.

UDB/Trak is pretty easy. We did it with 1 group and it didn't take long at all. If nothing else, its worth getting the [url="http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=26039"]Tunic of Wrath[/url] which sold overnight for 55k.

If the question is whether to skip epic 1.0 for epic 1.5, I am 99% sure that you cannot. Sorry if I misread post :) I am also basically up to UDB trak fight woohoo (waiting on a MQ of Amyg tendril and spine).

First, which server are you on? I have an abundance of Amy Tendrils on The Rathe. Second, if you can't get mine, ask some higher up SK's. An SK friend of mine sent me a tell with a link to one. Apparently Sk's need a drop from the warriors for their epic and they can probably help you out. Finally, for the Kedge backbone, i did an OOC in bazaar and POK and ended up getting my MQ. Some people were charging, but a really nice guy did it for free. GL!!

Actually. Epic 1.5 does not require 1.0 but epic 1.0 allows you to skip steps. In addition 1.0 is a nice item attainable earlier and a status symbol. Just like you don't skip buying your level 50-60 songs because the level 60+ songs are better you should do your epic 1.0.

You have many tendrils? :) I'm trying to get Phinny to drop his backbone as we speak... I've got Phinny, Tendril & Trak left =) Just got Eld...soo excited!!

Yep! It was amusing because we finally cleared Fear and the stupid Warrior that droped the Tendril also dropped me. A friend looted it for me since they weren't rezzing. He then teased me with it for days. A few days later, his wife realized she had one in the bank. A few weeks later we did Fear again and I got my OWN tendril, my BF looted an extra. Two days ago an SK friend of mine linked me a Tendril and said, "Bah! Third one today!" while camping his epic 1.5. So... If you're on The Rathe server, send me a tell and we'll MQ that tendrill for you. I'd also be up for another Trak fight if you need help!! ;)

Well 4 times for Phin so far, no back bone :cry: ... Surion has offered me a tendril for MQ, anyone happen to have a backbone that would jump in on that? Contact me in game if you do so we can talk... (Rathe Server)

man, I don't get it, how do u level 50 guys get ur epic so soon? Maybe you're in good guilds. When I was that level, I was in horrible guilds, where baisecly if u where on 24/7 and everyone knew you, then u'd get help... or they'd tell me "Just get to level 65 dude, it'll be eay then". Well look at me now, level 58 and now the level cap has been upped to 70 AND now there's new epics. To those who told me to wait to 65, theres plenty of time to just lay aroud and do nothing, I hate you....ok the word hate is a little harsh, but I dislike you...just a bit. Like how a friend will be kinda angry at a friend for those little habbits that really annoy you but you don't wanna say anything cause u fear of upsetting them...Then they pull out a sword and start to chase you around saying "HOW DARE YOU SAY THAT TO ME"....sorry, I tend to drag on with my stories. But dude, get ur epic done man, its a symbol of pride :D

I got mine at 51...*I went to AA's and stayed 51 till I got it* but it was a long time ago... lvl 60 was the top then and everyone had epic fever. I just tagged along with all the other epic fights. Got the red scale off a guildies ragefire, got the phinny backbone when tagging along with a wiz for his staff, etc. Oh and I went to a million (ok so I exagerate) open raids for Vox before I got a scale (in that time I did get a belt, my cleric got a hammer and shortly after then then is when they added the hide to make the cloak, so my wiz has white dragon scale cloak). The only fight I had to drag my guild out for was Trak. And since Kunark BP's were still worth something then... it wasn't so hard. Until the epic 1.5's came out, people were still doing the original epics and If you help them, you get your pieces. That is what I dislike about this implementation, you have to drag out all these people to help you with no hope of benefit to themselves other than your good will.

I did all my parts of epic between 50 and 55. finished epic at 55 I think. and yeah I completely agree put all your effort into getting 65 first, then move on to epics/AAs. People aren't going to want you in a group because you're 58 with your epic, they'll want you because you're level 65. bigger help by far. I only finished it early because I had nothing to do during the day when guild wasn't raiding and when friends weren't online. I soloed almost all of my epic except Trak(which I got a few friends together for) and Phinny because a guildie MQd for me. I raided trak at least 20 times in the next month only to try and get the SS bp which I never got. but God bless man just spend time getting levels and not worrying about this stuff till you have them
