The Stonebrunt dragon's AE is a prismatic check - just an update.

    Re: 4 Dragons

To correct the problem with models showing up as human, or animals looking strange at times. IE a polar bear with a grizzly head, turn off caching under EQ options, exit out and go into your EQ directory. Sort all by type and delete the .TXC files. Turn caching back on under EQ options, log in and play. For each zone you enter, it will make a new, updated .TXC file to replace the one which was deleted. Sometimes these get corrupted when the game data is changed during patches, most of the time on a new expansion release when new models are introduced.

    Re: 4 Dragons

Caching was turned off about 6 months ago when dx9 went live. You can have it on but it won't create new .txc files. Question: Is it possible to do the dragons if you haven't done the DN part? Some other epic fights were rigged so you couldn't loot the drop if you weren't at the right step of the quest. (Guildy warrior had to kill some mobs twice because he did them in wrong order and couldn't loot the drops.)

Yes, you can do the dragons without the DN part but you CANNOT do the Kithicor fight without the orb from DN.

Yes, the crystals can be obtained prior to the DN fights. I did it just fine and was able to finish the epic last night.

    Re: 4 Dragons

hate the forest dragon, tried it with 14 ep peeps we had 4 clerics a 12k tank an enc (slow landed pretty easily with hos) 3 wizards 3 rangers a druid and a necro. thought we would be set with that but this mob is rough. we got it to 38pct...clerics ran oom EDIT: tried it the next night with 29 people ( i got alot more support the i expected to!) we downed him easy, still took a while the mts defensive was down in the end but we downed him. key to this is LOTS of ranged dps, we had 5 clerics. we tried again after because 2 trigger mobs were up and got ownd because a necro overaggrod and ae ramp killed the raid...got him to 38pct this mob can kill your small raid if you have 1 mess up so you need to have your raid watch there aggro

    Re: 4 Dragons

My guild has been farming EPs for a couple of months -- we don't have more than 3 or 4 pieces of good EP quality gear per person, but still the implication was that the easier dragons wouldn't be that hard to single group. We tried the Swamp Dragon last night with our regular XP group (bard, shaman, warrior, druid, mage, wizard) plus a pocket cleric and bard alts and we got owned. The AE DoT is pretty vicious and it goes off fairly often -- we resisted it most of the time, but if it gets through two or three times, it eats up a ton of cleric mana. For pre-time people, these are NOT one group kills. Our group is pretty good, for our level of gear but there is no way we're killing any of those dragons without another group or two of reinforcement. I had hoped to do 2 or 3 of the encounters in my epic without having to beg for guild help, but it looks like all 8 of them are going to need 2+ groups.

    Re: 4 Dragons

Tried the swamp dragon yesterday late. If you are elemental or lower, i recommend 3 groups, and i'd recommend not to try without a Warrior + 2 cleric. Dps is they key if you have a low end warrior, since once defensive is down, much harder to heal , as usual for high hitters. Ae is crappy though. edit : i didn't get the way you present infos right on first read. Wishes/Thunder

He's just north of the frog city. If you can find ulump, you should be able to track him from there. Keep in mind he's got a 3 hour respawn after he's been killed. Rappa

Did Swamp Dragon last night. Grp was warrior (13k hp's), cleric, bard(me), mage, druid, paladin. Wipe at 40%, couldn't get slow to land. Second try same warrior, 2 clerics, bard, mage, druid, paladin, wipe at 18%, flurry killed tank because once again I couldnt keep it slowed. Third try was enchanter, 2 clerics, tank, bard, mage, druid, paladin, fight was easy. Clerics ended fight with over 60m. 525 all resists and I only resisted the AoE once or twice. My advice for people trying this fight is to make sure to bring a real slower, even with HoS and malos on, slow landed like once every 15 tries. With slow hes cake, tank didnt drop below 50% at all. Might be trying Mountain dragon tonight :)

    Re: 4 Dragons

Ah did I find something interesting.... after posting a guild raid a week earlier, only 15 or so were online at the posted start time... so while I waited for more to log in, I started searching Jagged Pine Forest for a spot to Pin the dragon in a corner...... this was due the fact of posts that said the AE is a more forward directed effect and behind it is less. None the less as I searched all along the zone walls from the South East corner by the river and then followed along the south zoneline.... found a few potential spots but I kept going around to the Nedaria zone/tunnels. Now, this zone is an outdoor zone which anyone from doing WW dragons knows outdoor zone walls dont block AE. So with time to kill I started to search the tunnels for a spot to pull the dire kodiak and possibly position the dragon to avoid the AE on the healers. Well I found one. Right at the entrance to the Nedaria tunnels the walls form a zonelike pattern..... next step was to test it.... so I boxed my mage and proceeded to pull the kodiak inside the tunnel where I kited him down and spawned the dragon inside the tunnel. Once positioned, I hit deftdance with mage around corner with a few buffs and BB the dragon. After 2 AE's going off, no effect on the mage at all. Next step was to test healing, so a cleric in the zone farming tradeskill components came to assist and sure enough heals land and she stood around the corner nice and safe. Now for rangers.... there is a rock located at the end of the room opposite of the tunnel entrance which is out of the 200 range also. Needless to say after a few more logged in we made an attempt on the still spawned dragon using this spot, rangers on the rock were out of AE range, warrior stood in the corner by entrance to tank, healers/raid safely ducking in and out of AE or staying out of AE, I twisted DS songs/regen while the tank clickied his fingers off to keep his buffs. With 19 EP geared folks.... dragon down NO deaths. Now some folks will screem sploit... but every major mob out there is pulled from one spot and positioned for effects/range/AE unless rooted... caster/healers have hidden from AE's all throughout the game in every expansion. Luclin being the one of the biggest in Ntov. Using simple positioning/strategy took a mob which AE 1500 pts with 2 slot dispell every 12 seconds with AE Rampage where casters must be in melee range to land spells and made it into the trivial fight which they stated the new epics would be. Now for the NK dragon, has anyone try to position healers inside the building at the bridge? Something to try. Hope this helps anyone having trouble doing this dragon.
