lvl 68 song Dirge Of Metala

Kocho I obtained with a " Muramite Rune " one song that is dont listed in the song list, is called dirge of metala and the description is A slow rhythm that lowers the movement rate of an opponent for 0.00.00 Is one upgrade of our snare song, but is less resistible for high lvl mobs like in Pgs, or WoS

From what I have read it gets resisted more often. It may be broken as it is listed under the SLOW category.

Category means absolutely nothing about what the song actually does. I'm fairly certain it is meant as a superfluous field to allow spell developers to run queries and find general spell effects without having to look at individual spell slots.

Yes, I do know it means nothing, because it does not actually slow :p I was guessing. It in concievable that they categorized it correctly, but the spell data is incorrect. Who knows? :)

Re: lvl 68 song Dirge Of Metala

I actually picked this song up because I heard it was a 1 minute duration (I'll get even eith the bard that told me that!!) It's simply an 18 second snare, with no other components. I'm not sure what people are talking about though when they say it gets resisted more. I'm lvl 70, and using it in Muramite Proving Grounds, and it is *rarely* resisted. Probably been resisted 2, maybe 3 times so far in there on me. It almost always lands. Sometimes it fades instantly, but at least it lands. I was bummed that I wasted a 30k rune on this untill I saw how well it landing. Now I have it loaded all the time. Just my input.

Good to hear. My 51 snare gets resisted all the time on 61 trash and 66 named from the expo's. I have the song, but just forget to use it :p

Re: lvl 68 song Dirge Of Metala

I have this song and used it 1 time and never memmed it again. This song is not like our other snares that once they land they last the full 3 ticks. This song can last 3 ticks max but can wear off on the 1st, 2nd or 3rd tick so its not a fixed duration. What kinda crap is that? Now if they made it a 1 minute duration with a chance to break early like charm then that would be reasonable but not being able to get at least 3 ticks guaranteed out of it stupid. Its another slap in the face from SoE as far as I'm concerned. We asked for a "snare only" (no slows or other components) song for a long time then they give us this piece of crap. They probably get a good laugh around the water cooler over this one.

Must admit I have been using the lowest snare we have (23?) in MPG with very few resists... Is enough to stop them running and help split awkward spawns...(Taskmaster Ghio anyone? lol)

Miseryfiend Ghio is a trival single. The roamer is a discordling and they are only social with other discordlings. So ignore it. The other mobs can trip over it coming at you and it won't add. Or just tag it and it comes single if you want. Mezz the mob on either side of the named/ph. Only Ghio will assist. If mezz fails you have a second chance if you're group is in the asile right there or two chances is they are waiting in the south passage. If it still doesn't land, fade and try again. I split most of the MPG named's rooms with mezz. Excepting of course DEK, cause he's a discordling and his neighbors won't assist him. I can't belive all the time I spent trying to split them before I realized they can just be ignored.

Am currently in a bit of a quandary as far as getting 67 goes... I am getting nearly 4% aa per kill in mpg at the moment but have a friend bard who levelled to 67 and is getting between 2 and 2 1/2% a kill... I am just sacrificing a little utility to get some key aa's finished before I feel ready to level again... If you see my magelo you will understand why lol (is fairly up to date lol)

I only measure AA % when soloing so our situations differ slightly, but I am still suprised at the big difference your friend is seeing. Personally I have stuck at level 69 for the same reason you have stayed at 66. At 65 I was getting an average of 10% AA per kill in Vxed (or at the 65/66 Murkgliders in NC and WoS), Now that I have reached 69 this is dropping to just over 7% per kill. There is no arguing that staying at a lower level is far more productive for XP per kill, but the figures you have been given seem suprisingly harsh. May I suggest that you ding 67 - see how you like it, and then take one or two 96% rezzes back to 66.99 if you find that things are as bad as you have been told. For me, I'm happy sticking where I am - there are two or three 67 to 69 songs that I find very much worth the XP loss. Hope this helps. Xeona
