Just curious if anyone have tried kiting in PoFire. Dont have access there yet as I miss SolRo, but Ive talked to guildies that there are several mobs up there that doesnt summon and doesnt cast. Unless its a named mob - it doesn't summon. Mobs have a ton of HPs though. DotB chant kiting takes ~12 mins for a lvl 68 mob (18% AA per kill though) AE Kiting (la la la) takes over a 1/2 hour for the same mobs, but... several AA per 1/2 hour pull is nice ;)

I'd like to second that ... I've tried to make AoE kiting work, and haven't really gotten it yet. Rivyn, 62 bard, Lanys.

aoe kiting = great knowledge of the mobs...area and a sweet fast computer, i've tried on my slow 400mhz 320mb ram 64mb vid card comp....nothing but sqeesh for me........ as an old bard once said....lag = dead bard

What's the theory behind AoE kiting? Not swarm kiting right?

I'm too much of a chicken to try to gather up 4 of the lvl 65+ guys in fire and AE-kite them. But... I've AE-kited with a druid a couple times at the 'Picnic Tables' in the 2nd castle in Fire, these guys are red but, I'm not sure what their lvl range is. The druid gathers up 4 and snares them all, HoS really makes this easier, and gets a nuke or two in. The bard just runs behind and plays AEdmg songs of any sort, you could also try to keep a few of the soldiers HoS'd. If you do happen to get aggro just be quick to fade and you're fine, otherwise a few hits and you're probably toast. :\ Alone, I'm not sure other than that you'd gather up a couple and just run around trying to stay within AEdmg range but outisde of their melee range... that and have a cleric handy because this seems like a death sentance to me.... I'm a huge chicken though. :D

As far as I can tell, the theory is that you gather up lots of mobs and hit them with the AE damage songs as you stay barely outside their melee range. Using extended range AA and fading memories AA to survive

We should /petition verant to make Extended range AA's work on things other than group buffs as well.

I did hear a rumor the other day that EN and SC might work for point-blank ae songs... I've never tested it before, or recently, just assumed that it wasn't intended for those songs. Maybe we should test it though, I'm curious now! :D

I petition one day for Extended Range not working for all the songs and i still get no answer from Verant about this point :cry: In the description of the Ability EN, there is no restriction to area/group Song so why did Verant hide this :mad: Bleric 65th Vah Shir Bard of Bertox

I rarely solo, but i did DoT kite in Fire a couple time, pre LDoN. Go to the "picnic tables" in the 2cd castle, this is an completly safe spot. The aggro range there is ridiculous, everything comes solo. Mobs there are obviously immune to fire, so you won't have the 4 chants in. Had 3 chants + Fufil's and Assonance in, took me 8 mins per kill. Each mob gives 14% to 16% AA exp. They tend to resist both Magic songs 40% of the time so be ready to HoS. By far the finest place to solo.

Slight problem with all this though...I remember on a patch message a coupla months ago that SoE made all the "base population of monsters" in PoFire able to summon....can you say squishy bard?

Thought that was SolRo Tower. I know I haven't seen my wiz friend in there since heh.
