    Chorus of Life on Jelvan

Is it ok to use chorus of life during the jelvan event? The reason I ask is because our guild is currently attempting jelvan. We havent won yet so we are still learning the strat and are trying different things. Currently the raid leaders are disallowing all AoE spells and songs. I guess the answer depends in your guilds strat. But I'm still curious to know if anyone does or does not use AoE songs during jelvan. BTW I'm not looking for strats. I just wanted to get input on AoE song effects on this event. My feeling is that they should be allowed. Dumaine

Using it adds an amount of risk to the event, should aggro be transferred. You'll know what I'm talking about. Just 1 person getting aggro from another camp via the song would most likely wipe the raid.

Yes its ok to play it..that and ae resists song depending on which of the 3 mobs u are assigned. I usualy tiwst chorus, ae resists, and ac with VoV as a 4th occasional twist in my melody setup (since I am normally in the tank group). Rithim

Rithim sounds confident in his answer so I'll try to convice the raid leader to allow the bards to play AoE mana song. I'm going to also ask them to test the range first. It should be easy enough to stand at point A and see if AoE mana song reaches near point B. We may be trying jelvan tonight but not sure. Ill post the results if we do.

Re: Chorus of Life on Jelvan

We setup inside in the jails for our jelvan event.. each mini force has its own bard normally. Just make sure the main tank has aggro before u start playing ur ae songs and that the mob is positioned and such. That takes about 5 seconds then start up all ur ae songs and there should be no problem.. I am thinking of the correct one right? LOL.. 3 mobs that have to be taken down at the same time, at roughly the same pace, inside the jail area? Rithim Nblues

Just use proper positioning and it's no problem. We always used AE songs for Jelvan. Calli

Yeah, AE resists are useful enough that you need 'em. So since you're doing AE resists anyway, throwing in Chorus isn't going to hurt too badly. And events like this are the exact reason why I refused to get EN AAs... there are times (though rare) when they can be detrimental.

Yes I have all my extended range aa's (810 aa currently). I don't believe ur songs will even hit the other groups do to the walls of the jail cells blocking out the ae but i am not sure on that.. Rithim Nblues

Rithim, Think you missed the one night that AE songs wiped us. AE songs are fine to play, but we've got to make sure that all 3 mobs are in their respective cells before playing. Extended range AE songs will reach the center but not the other cells where the other 2 mob fights happen. Sufi

Sufi, I was working that night but i heard when I came back. Edey told me we got banned from playing them. So the next time we tried and I was there, I was only allowed to play group songs. Bah. People were getting owned by the ae knockback and clerics were runnin a bit low on mana but otherwise it still went smoothly. Guessing that may change in the future as we get better at that event. Everyone likes to blame bards.. Rithim Nblues

Re: Chorus of Life on Jelvan

LOL.. blame the bards :) personally after experementing with it a bit.. I found it safer not to use the AE line.. and just stick with the group resist(pov) and mana song. depending on the raid make up. (we are usually short on Shammy and BL's) I'm usually put in with the healers on the MANA mob.. basically my job is to cure the healer of the mana dot, and keep mana song running with PoV works well enough. I've used Chorus a couple times.. both times we got agro from the Stun mob. its possible that I started chorus too soon and got agro from it. but its deadly having 2 AE's to contend with .. Play it safe.. and stick with group buffs

Always used ae mana and resists there and never had a problem and i have all the extended range aa's maxxed so you should be fine as long as the tank got the aggro set.

Re: Chorus of Life on Jelvan

max extended here too, and it's easy to test range with people in other cells, if you are in the cell and they are too, you will not affect each other, it's not even possible. Either the cells being used are too close together, which is really easy to fix, or someone has their song going too soon, and hitting one of the ramp tanks on inc. Don't start your ae songs till the mobs are in their cells, it doesn't take long at all, but jumping early can screw it up. I'd hate to do these fights without ae resists personally.

Re: Chorus of Life on Jelvan

AE songs on this event are fine. My guild has the raid divided into 3 3 mini raids and stations them above the cells. RT and MT drop down and position the mobs in the cells. MT for each mob calls its mini raids drop down and start playing AE resist songs in the cells (poison/disease for NE and NW cells and fire/cold for south cell). We also have a warrior or 2 in the middle ready to go to whatever cell loses thier MT. as long as you are in the cell your AE songs will not hit the other cells, even with maxxed range AA's. Once you are in a cell you just can not got another cell till oyur mob is dead.
