Multiple (nearly all) server mergers, a very major live update, multiple minor ones, pvp servers going live, and an expansion....all in about a 2 week period?
Many of us on the Sony boards commented how risky this would be. In all fairness, it would be for anyone, but for Sony Offline Entertainment (not my moniker, unfortunately) it was a very very big risk, and they, so far, have blown it big time.
The Befallen/Faydark merger was a disaster, 30 sec to over 2 minute lags in chat (funny in casual channel chat, bad in groups, disasterous in raids).
In EQ 2, many toons twist almost like a bard with various combo's. Real lag is disasterous, and some folks have found the game on the Merged server intolerable.
Its probably not as bad a PoK was in the first few days after release, but evidently some of the non-instanced raid zones have become impossible.
One positve thing, none of the other servers have done their mergers (they had them scheduled 1 a day for a week).
At any rate, for a few pages full of rants:
