    Re: So... Progression...

Quote: When the mob was snared and trying to flee... they still took damage from the level 2 and level 18 DOTs. I get a "wince" emote but no damage. Bringing up a new bard withouth the benefit of twinking, this does, in fact, have a significant impact. When you are using a bronze weapon and the mob turns to flee you loose nearly half your DPS when Chords is nullified. I really enjoyed the Progression Servers, but the hard cores are still blowing through content, and now twinks are starting to show up, and is was always difficult for the twinked and untwinked to share the same hunting area or group. The lack of a bazaar and my mistake in starting an intelligence chaster (chanter) that needs to research his own spellls to be able to afford them kinda burnt me out on the time sinks. If I stay, it will be with a toon that doesn't rely on equipement or hard to come by spells to be successful. (Bard, anyone?) Everyone has different views. I believe in the death penalty in EQ1 but the time sinks (crafting, traveling and corpse runs) do much to disuade someone who no longer plays 5 or 6 hours a night. There are a batch of folks who want a limited-per-day playtime (per toon) progression server. I understand where they are coming from.

I'd have to retest to reconfirm since I haven't been playing the Progression Bard in awhile, but I'm positive that they were taking the damage if they were trying to flee, but unable because of snare (I noticed because I was so surprised that they did)... if they were actually fleeing, then they didn't take the damage.
