So read somewhere about the various Tuyen's Chants twisting well together. I decided to twist the following, and see what I could kill in Dreadlands .. (I'm lvl 46 and it's a hot zone) Chant of Frost Chant of Flame Chant of Disease Selos Accelerando Selos Constant Chain Curtailing Chant It worked GREAT, went up 3/4 level in about 2 hours. I was playing a drum, so the hits were great. However, every twist, the Accelerando wore off and I slowed down. I've twisted this song many many times in combination with many others and never had this happen. However, in this case, regardless of the order of the songs above, the selos really wore off quickly. Does anyone have a clue as to why .... and would care to enlighten me? Thanks

Possibly, were you snaring yourself lol? Or, maybe the mobs were dispelling you. Or, your corresponding hotkey for melody had the wrong number for the spell gem that you had selos in? I know I do that occasionly as I keep two melody hotkeys for grouping/raids and one for soloing. Only things I can think of.

If you were twisting all 6 of those, Selo's would be wearing off every time... until you get the 49 Selo's, you may need to refresh Selo's every 3 songs to ensure you have it permanently. Possibly just a bad luck streak and the server tick happened just after you kicked off Selo's so the duration was effectively a tick short, although in 3/4 of a level it's extremely unlikely that would have happened. As Truetone mentioned, it's possible you were getting dispelled, but again, if it happened regularly, it's not likely. And possibly, you accidentally memorized Selo's Song of Travel instead of Accelerando. In which case the song would drop the instant you started casting something else.

My recomendation at this time would be to change your line up a bit. Try: Selos constant chain chant of frost chant of flame chant of disease With snare slow you do not need Selos Accelerando for the mobs in DL and if you wish to throw in the curtailing chant as well fine but you then run the risk of snare wearing off. If you want to keep your current lineup 1) Chant of Frost 2) Chant of Flame 3) Chant of Disease 4) Selos Accelerando 5) Selos Constant Chain 6) Curtailing Chant Try 4455112244553366 repeat till dead. Might be interesting to parse which method would do more dps over the time approx 1.5-3 minutes per mob

I've had a problem that sounds a little different than this, but has the same result. When I twist Selo's with 3 other songs, often it seems Selo's lands just as the old Selo's wears off and the result is that the new one doesn't stick. This doesn't happen every twist (or every other), but it happens enough that it has gotten me in trouble several times when I'm kiting several mobs around. :o Gil go splat!

I haven't had a song or a buff drop recently like that and I was thinking that the bug had been addressed and repaired. If this is common for you it may be lag more than anything and switching your songs around a bit might help. You may have to twist selo's in every 3rd song to compensate. With the lineup of: 1) Chant of Frost 2) Chant of Flame 3) Chant of Disease 4) Selos Accelerando 5) Selos Constant Chain 6) Curtailing Chant You might try 4455114422554433etc losing a bit of dps with dropped chants BUT if it keeps you alive thru lag the mob will still die just take a bit longer. Another option and something that is mentioned in most of the guides about the various methods of kiting is getting sow so you don't have to worry about twisting in selos. Sow potions are an option till you get 49th and Selo's Accelerating Chorus (2min 30 seconds of bard speed) Have fun and good kiting.

I actually remember that little bug when leveling up. Where your Selos would be fading off as the song pulses again, then for some reason it doesnt land. It actually still happens to me with Selo's Song of Travel. Though with that song you dont twist anything else. If you have ever noticed every so often it pops up a message saying "You are about to become visable" or "You are about to fall"... something like that... I never worry about it because it always catches on the next pulse. I got around the whole thing by using SoW potions, then somewhere around lvl 20 getting a pair of J-Boots. Both of which work great when soloing as 99% of the mobs under lvl 49 dont run any faster than J-boot speed. That in effect also frees up a spot in your /melody for another song.
