No, never have.  Probably never will.  Mana Regen from items works, as do the Mana Regen AA.

There are many ways to split.  You can just fade and hope they path back separately, do it the way you described it (though a faster way would be to mez one, bring the other to the group, then fade when you got there so the mezzed one wanders back), or pull any number of other tricks.  Best advice I can give is to play around with it and find out which ways work best for you.  I think there might be some pulling guides somewhere in the archives here on EQDiva.

    Re: Bard question..

Usually mezzing adds and pulling a single is how I do it if there is lots of room, then fade.  If mobs are unmezzable, use snare to get the mobs far enough away from eachother, then fade and tag one.  Sometimes I use highsun, then fade, but that's usually my last resort as the range on highsun is pretty short, you have to be careful with the distance between you and mob as its chasing you before song finishes casting.

    Re: Bard question..

Many ways to use Fade...  Mezz, snare are two of the most common.  Highsun not so much due to range.  Can also use lull after a fade.  Monk pulling (Using pathing/obsticles only to split them up) tends to be mana intensive.

Knowledge of assist ranges, knowing mobs don't assist a mob which has assist aggro'd, that a proximity aggro'd mob has a smaller assist range than one you cast on, that lull doesn't need line-of-sight, are all useful.

    Re: Bard question..

there are almost infinite ways to split with fade, i find if you want a single out of a few mobs is to pull the few, run close to camp and mezz one. Then run away and fade, run back and break mezz with boastful bellow and bring that into camp, very useful when trying to pull named, etc.

Best advice possible is to jst go out there and practise use your imagination  you never know what you might be able to do with a bit ofmana and our song line-up :)
