    Old world equipment

    Hello,

I recently came back to the game to join a guild on the test server.

Our goal is to conqer the game, one expansion at a time.

Everyone has testbuffed, so we have a good base of gear that we can upgrade from. However we only have access to pre-kunark content at this time.

The testbuff armor for a bard is lambent, with singing steel boots. But the boots didn't have the clicky, so I've replaced them with boots of stalking.

Typically I've found that some of the hometown newbie gear is better than testbuff. However, I made a Vah'Shir, so I don't have newbie quests.

I'm trying to find some armor to upgrade from lambent, but I can't think of many old items.

My weapons are a Blackened Alloy Greatsword and an Enamled Black mace.

The testbuff weapon is the Symphonic saber without the proc, and the offhand is the MM Drums.

I'm just a few items away from getting the Wakizashi of the Frozen Skies.

The Wakizashi isn't lore and it's 6/22 w/ a 78dd proc. Thinking of dual weilding those, or getting a PGT.

SSoY isn't an option, every one that drops goes to the tanks for an aggro proc.

Am I missing anything? Looking for upgrades on armor and weapons.

Sounds good at the level if you're pre-kunark.  Can't think of too much else, singing steel used to be the bee's knees in AC at the time even before lvl 45 to use the clickies (I think 45 off top of my head), but there's plenty of gear these days that works well, and plenty of hotzone augs to drop in them.

Crafted culteral would probably be the thing to keep an eye out for.

    Re: Old world equipment

Technically speaking, Stonebrunt was not an old world zone (if I'm remembering correctly, that's where WoFS is from).  And it's probably the best weapon you'll be able to get easily.  Might consider checking Jaggedpine if you're going that route (again, not technically an old world zone).

Think about getting the Mithril pieces from Sol B, I think those are decent Lambent upgrades.  And you might consider collecting bits and pieces for your epic for when Kunark becomes valid, won't really help you now, but it's a time saver in the long run.

    Re: Old world equipment

The bar on equipment has been set at +35hp.

As long as the item drops in old world content and has less than 35hp, it's fair game.

We've been gearing up with items from lavastorm, stonebrunt, guk, and the hole.

I found the mithril you were talking about, the BP drops off a rare spawn and the rest drops off the fire giants.

We're doing Naggy for the first time tomorrow, so hopefully we'll get lucky.

I got a smoldering steel dirk off a goblin in Lavastorm, it's really nice.
