your first equipment goal is probably just a weapon or two and armor. Get a drum, even if it's a hand drum. Maybe a lute or mandolin. If you can get to katta castellum on luclin, you can get slightly better instruments. You'll want a drum for running at least. A lute you might swap in for a heal song or a dot. But if you're going to make any gear a priority, make it weapons and armor for now and for awhile. I don't even think you can have worn instrument mods, which is what I think you are asking about, for awhile, and they won't make as big of a difference as the bare essentials.
