    The Domino pull

Recently my guild has been farming Ssra keys, and as some of you may know, it's a very long and boring process. The components are acquired by having one of two commanders pop, one specific to each floor, and dropping and idol or a ring each time, respectively. To get the commanders to pop, you have to kill everything. With the types of groups we bring, 1 mob dies fast. Problem is that a lot of mobs are casters, so pulling 3-4 at the time results in deaths. This got me to thinking. Since I am the puller, and I love it, I always try to find new ways to increase kill rate. AE'ing wouldn't work with most of the groups we bring there, so it was out of the question. Chain pulling is ok, but while I'm out of range the group isn't getting my songs and that lowers DPS a lot. And then it hit me, Eureka! Ok, so as with all things, I'm sure someone somewhere has done this before and I'd be a fool if I tried to claim I was the first "ever" to use such a technique. I however, did figure this out on my own and have never seen anyone do it. I've dubbed it the "domino" pull. I walk into a room of 4 lulled mobs. I mez one, I wait 4 secs, I mez another, wait 4 secs, mez third one, and aggro 4th one. My pull message is "inc 4 dominos". The chanter now knows what to do. The first mob gets to camp and start dying. At 4 secs intervals, mobs come to the camp one by one, and the chanter lines them up single file behind the one we're killing. As a mob dies, we start killing the one behind it, and the one behind it, always with full twist of songs going the whole time. They fall like dominos. While you're waiting for the dominos to come, make sure that if there are casters you are not in Line of Sight as they make their way to your group. Otherwise they will stop far and unload a bunch of nukes before getting close enough. In Ssra it's very easy since there's corners all over the place. In places with mobs with high MR I'd suggest pulling with either occlusion or harmony of sound, then mez one, or else you have a dead bard fast. You'd also need very high DPS in pop zones for this to work well, but if you DO have high DPS, this will be the highest xp a group can get, legitimately. (boo, boo, network groups) as always, comments and feedback is very appreciated, Astuce Subterfuge Maestro Elementals of Tomonari Innoruuk Server

That is a cool idea :) gets things there faster than chain pullijng, but in a manner controlled enough for a tallented enchanter to get them all mezzed. (and lets hope they are tallented if they made it to the planes) Only possible increase in kill speed, depending on the level of the mobs, is to domino 2 of them, charm the third, and agro the 4th, and make sure the charm doesn't stop the agro'd one... or just domino them all and charm the agro'd one when you reach camp, and have him join in on killing the first mez who reaches you. However this does add other variables into the mix, and if your group has the damage capabilities to do it without the charm I guess it is safer for you your way :)

I dont think too much in Ssra Comm camps is charmable, and most are semi-MR meaning short charms even if you used the level 64 charm, which is what you would need to charm there in the first place.

You can charm in there pretty easily with Banshee, but most things in SSRa summon as well heh.

Being summoned into a tube or hall to tube room with a near full pop = very very bad.

So far the feedback I get from the chanters is that they are loving this, since it allows them to actually do something during the raid that is within the flavor of their character class. Most chanters feel very bored during the raid because we usually have "tank mezzers" for adds during a raid, and a mez will only last a fraction of a second until someone breaks it. This way not only do they get to mez, but they know when it's coming, how many are coming, and there's less pressure to get it right since it's not a wipe situation, which is usually the only time people remember they can mez. rock n' roll 'Stuce
