Try clicking the "Edit" link, and not touching anything, and submitting your Edit with nothing changed. Does the browser still crash? I am able to do this, so I'm thinking it may be your browser or perhaps some of the new data you're inputting.
What IE browser version are you using? I'm using a special control that displays extra formatting features, but it should only be displaying in the latest IE browser.
