New GoD spells

Well looking over the list I'd have to say that none of the excite me in one bit, granted we get a small upgrade to our Zek song, which i almost always sing and our currnet overhaste song, this does not bring the excitement that i'd expect w/ a new expansion. http://www.rpgexpert.com/1260.html

    Re: New GoD spells

I'm affraid I must agree, to an extent. With the exception of the Ancient song (that most of us will never scribe), they just don't carry the "wow" factor. Dark Echo could have, but the short duration and long recast delay crippled it. Ancient Chaos Chant - This song rocks. Of course, it's "Ancient" .. so it better. :p I would definately use this song a lot if I were to scribe it. Dark Echo - I actually like this song. It's an ability we didn't have before, which is nice. It will be rarely memmed, and probably only in PvP, but it's still gives us something that we couldn't do before. (Granted, the duration is too short and the recast too long - why use a 50% chance to block a spell when we could just use DA for a 100% chance to block spells and everything else?) Echo of the Trusik - another Rizlona upgrade. Depending on how hard the quest is for this song (or how rare the drop), Muse may no longer have a reason to exist... I mean, at least when Muse came out Rizlona wasn't useless because you could get it a level sooner. And I personally wish they would've added in a small (10%?) healing focus effect to it to make it more interresting (a one-stop shop song to make whatever the group is doing.. better). War March of the Mastruq - More DS and more ATK are difficult to scorn, but this song is still just a blah upgrade to Warsong of Zek (which, IMHO, is a much cooler song name). But at least it comes at a later level so WoZ still has a reason to exist.

    Re: New GoD spells

What I would like to see with the new expansions is that they drop the level on some of the songs they are replacing. For instance: move Rizlona down 4-5 levels, now that it is being superceeded but the new song at the same level. Give the old song a reason to still exist. Harder to do that with the LDoNs since they are so deeply tied in with the APs but could be done. Just a thought, you know. Tenosh on Prexus.

I have a for instance for ya, Say you and your guild are fighting Solsek Ro, who does a AE for 1k dmg... if your group manages to reflect it then hey hey thats 6k damage to Sol ro... I think it could come in handy on raids if used as such.

Better yet, increase the current lvl 65 cap, and up the level of the new spells.

Great idea, except Dark Echo only gives you the chance to reflect spells that can be cast by PCs, and is the main reason why so many people find it useless except for PvP. Most high-end bosses use spells/skills which are unique to them, and as such could never be reflected.

    Re: New GoD spells

I have to disagree that these songs are dissappointing, far from it. For one thing Warsong and Muse are always twisted, even on raids, so any upgrade to them is great. Furthermore we are lucky to get songs that we would actually keep memmed from time to time. As far as these being just another boring upgrade, well, every class has spells that follow a certain line and have been getting little upgrades their whole life, its not a new concept. I cant wait to add a new warsong and riz to my lineup.

    Re: New GoD spells

Face it, as far as i can see no class got impressive new spells, just minor upgrades. paladins get a spell thats a direct replacement stun that works up to 65 instead of up to 61, 90pts or so more on a group heal, a heal that i hope is fastcast, nothing impressive. All spells are a minor upgrade, but minor enough to be not worth hunting for unless theyre common or youre missing its predecessor

    Re: New GoD spells

Personally I find especially 'Echo of the Trusik' useful. It does much the same as Call of the Muse from what I see, but this time it's for the entire raid instead of group-only. Quite nice if you raid a lot. Did any bards out there already find clues on the monsters dropping these new spells, and the spell quests?

    Re: New GoD spells

Got Dark Echo today from Ancient Kayserops in GoD trial #1 today. Haven't had the chance to try it out yet, but I don't see anywhere where it says it only has the chance to only block spells that NPCs can cast. I'll experiment with this today and see if it can reflect procs. More info to come.

    Re: New GoD spells

Where did you see that Echo of the Trusik is an AE type song? All of the lucy data makes this look like it is group only just like call of the muse but with 10% more to spell effectiveness and 5% more to v3 haste.

    Re: New GoD spells

Personally I think we should have had an aggro inducing song as part of this expansion. I mean, who better than a bard to castigate a mob in verse until it's blinded with rage? It would fix a sore spot in our limited ability to tank...even if we have the hp/armor, we don't have the aggro. What would really be cool (though it'd be stepping on bard/SK toes) is the ability to throw a song onto someone else, so it would be as if they were singing it rather than you, aka a Ventriloquism song or ability. That has way too many issues for abuse though...Newb_00 taunts A_Freeport_Guard...
