Hi, and thanks for all your help in advance. I am a 61 bard who just doesn't have the time to play in the DoN missions a majority of the time. In fact, I have yet to do one at all. But, if I were to buy crystals from traders in the bazaar can I use them to buy items or do I have to work my faction up with wayfarer's merchant first?

I've never done a single DoN and I have bought and used many crystals. No need to work on faction.

I would strongly suggest working to at least tier2 DoN. After finishing first tier you get +10 to base stats. After finishing second tier you get like 250HP/mana/end approximately. But yea, you can buy crystals and spend them.

faction is not required to purchase from either camp.

Keep in mind that anyone can buy the crystals in the Bazaar and browse the merchants but you MUST have the DoN expansion to purchase the items. That may or may not be obvious but I wanted to clear that up.

dont forget the almighty Raw AA's handed out when you complete a tier =0) kinda like the 6AAs i hear you get for completing 1.5.... lol. thats a big incentive for me =0) Also, i would definately suggest using crystals for upgrades. while some ok outfits in the bazaar can cost REDICULOUS amounts, crystals can net you near the same equipment and its more customizable through auging them. for instance i was needing some new pants and nothing even remotely decent was selling for under 75k, i went and paid about 24k for enough crystals for the greaves of the first order, which are about the same level. or you could go the master's route and just buy master's level equipment and get a GM aug for them. hey even master's augs would be alright. oh yea, and tier 2 reward is 3% to hp (not counting the ND aa's) and 200 to mana and endurance. and the level 69 song Storm blade (100 proc to the groups melee).

Perhaps I'm missing something. I bought some radiant crystals from the Bazaar, went to good side wayfarers camp, in Lavastorm and went to the Merchant. But when I clicked on merchant and brought up his window, I was not able to buy anything. Even though I had crystals on me, it showed that I had zero crystals available, this looked exactly like buying gear using ldon points but referenced crystals instead. Is there a different merchant to go to (I forget the name of the one I went to), or is there a way to apply crystals to my character to show that they are available. Sorry if this isn't exactly clear but I am new to this part of the game, and yes I have the DoN expansion. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

get your inventory screen up (i key) and hit "reclaim" button near the part that shows how many crystals you have. If you dont see it there, make sure you dont have some old custom ui or somethin.
