happy browsing, there's a lot of good stuff in there.

as for where, if you don't like any of the old world stuff, check out the new tss stuff. you run fast enough to take a look around and zone if you get in trouble. blightfire moors, stone hive (probably with a group) and goru`kar mesa. look into chant kiting and swarm kiting. if you're gear is really good, play around with your songs, you might prefer meleeing, and you can always twist mez and heal song if you're losing a battle. You could look into fear kiting I suppose, but it'll stop working in about 20 or 30 levels.

charm kiting is within your grasp!

grab the latest charm song and head to the rathe mountains. learn to charm kite the hill giants in the region. you'll make lots of PP, gain good exp, learn how to charm kite and gradually be able to keep a good group of HGs in your kite without losing them. learn when to sing the invis song to break charm with the least amount of HG hitpoints possible.  when you hit level 39, grab the new charm song and head to timorous deep via south ro(oasis).

here's where the real fun begins.  head east and over the mountains to where the Aviaks are. there's a city that you can run up the ramp to aggro them, but for now just aggro the ones on the ground. i remember getting a level every 40 minutes from aviaks until lvl 45 or so. keep at it. their loot isn't so great but once in a while you'll spawn the aviak enforcer, which has an okay drop. there's another named aviak up on the hill southeast of the aviak city, too.

when you're sick of aviaks, like around 47, sing the lev song or just swim east to the third island, or the one in the top right of the zone. you'll find a lot of pirates. they backstab for 500 or something so be very very careful. bring a lot of empty backpacks with you as they can drop up to 15pp each and they always drop fine steel weapons.  also, avoid the ogre pirates, they will summon you, so be careful when you pull the pack of pirates. when you're done here, maybe around level 54 or so, you can head to plane of nightmare and kite the doggies. there's guides for that on this site. or you can begin your life of guild groups, or pick up groups. sebilis is great at his level. or just stick to the hotzones.

one thing about rathe mountains, a couple years ago they made the giants belly casters, I haven't been back there in years, but figure they probably still are, which makes it a less than ideal place for charm kiting. other places to check out around 35 that I really liked, hmm...I think frontier mountains may be a bit low at that point, but if not, the giant fort is an excellent place to learn to swarm kite. I also liked swarming in katta castellum, on the luclin moon, and I think that was good till about 45 or so. the aviaks mentioned at 45 are excellent by the way, although i'm sure there's other newer stuff around now, i bet blackfeather roost would be really good at 45 too for example, but aviaks are such a classic.

If you're new to charm and don't want to jump into swarm kiting right away, or if you like fear kiting, places like overthere at 35 was pretty good, and you can charm, chant, and/or fear. dreadlands after overthere for a fluid mix of all the above and endless fun chaos. wow, i'm totally stuck on kunark tonight huh.

gunthak is still good, followed by dulak harbor followed by nadox in the loy area. dawnshroud peaks had some good hunting at 35.

There's a big huge world to explore, a big empty world, full of good kiting. I used to just run around and explore and if it looked good I'd do it, but I never really did the grind thing.

I thought swarm kiting got nerfed tp the point that mobs have to be standing still to get hit?

Swarm kiting is when you charm a mob and let it get swarmed by the massive dps of a small non-charmed train, then break charm at low health. You are using a swarm of mobs to dps, and well, they swarm on top of the pet. Ae kiting referred to hitting a large number of mobs with pbae damage songs until they fell over dead, and the songs still don't do any damage if the mob is moving. But swarm kiting is still very much alive.

Range of charm spell is 30 at lvl 70 + but before this range is  200. Even with this small range i swarm kite, just have to mez one mob make some place and come back to charm.. but doable i made 4 aa in 30 min with lesson at 80.

I resist caster  95% of the time if its not 99% but summoner, you need to stay away of them

few place at hing lvl have non summmoner mob and if they summmon you will know it fast. Usualy you can read on ala's for mob info.

Re: i am a newbie bard lvl 35

I am lvl 35 as well now and I have a qustion about charm kiting - when the mob is low on hp and I invis, it will stand still and all the mobs that hit it, will be all over me - I can run, but I would have to do dps to the mob that is low on hp!? Then I'll almost surely die...how do I resolve that?

    Thanks :)

Aggro them all and finish your mob with dot's when you running in circle around, with some practice you will not get any hits.

Right after canceling  charm with invis i use selo to refresh my run speed and after this i start dot's to finish mob..

My song set up for kite is Selo, mezz, charm, 4x dots and regen....

sometimes it makes sense to have snare up too to snare and do like, 3 chants instead of 4, to keep it from moving. For example, to keep it from going under water, or behind a hill, or something like that. It will make him stand in place. Either way you'll have to run circles around him whether he's moving or not, so you keep him in range of your chants. You just have to get used to knowing where the swarm is at all times too so you don't get hit by it. Keep moving, refresh selo's often, use heal song whenever there's a free moment if you need it.
